Three test pits were excavated by hand, sand-displacement field density tesrs were taken at three depths at each location and loose bulk soil samples were taken to the laboratory for testing. BENTON ENGINEERING INC Design Haus Architectural Associates, Inc. -4- May 20, 1982 Project No. 82-5-6A It is further concluded that the footings may be supported by either the existing fill soils or on the underlying natural soils. The recommended bearing value for footings, at least 12 inches wide and placed at least 12 inches into the compact fill, or medium firm to very firm natural soils is 1900 pounds per square foot. Lateral loads may be resisted by passive soil pressure determined by assuming an equivalent fluid density of 190 pounds per cubic foot. A sliding friction factor of 0.4 may also be used simultaneously. If you have any questions regarding the data in this report, please contact this office.
