Specify the wiring methods to be used at this addition. I see Note 5 on sheet El concerning the 3/4" emt. However, because the City of Carlsbad does not allow AC cable and this is a medical facility, thereby eliminating standard MC cables, the approved wiring methods must be specified on the electrical plans. DEPARTMENT OF STATE ARCHITECT NON RESIDENTIAL TITLE 24 DISABLED ACCESS REQUIREMENTS REMODELS, ADDITIONS AND REPAIRS When alterations, structural repairs or, modifications or additions are made to an existing building, that building, or portion of the building affected, is required to comply with all of the requirements for new buildings, per Section 11 3413.2. These requirements apply as follows: The area of specific alteration, repair or addition must comply as "new" construction. A primary entrance to the building and the primary path of travel to the altered area, must be shown to comply with all accessibility features. Existing sanitary facilities that serve the remodeled area must be shown to comply with all accessibility features. Existing drinking fountains (if any) must be shown to comply with all accessibility features. Existing public telephones (if any) must be shown to comply with all accessibility features.
