You recently undertook to demolish a house located on your property
at 1287 Chestnut Avenue, Carlsbad, California (Tax Assessor's Parcel
No. 205-210-07).
While the house has been demolished and refuse removed, it has come
to our attention that the septic tank has not been exposed and back-
filled as required by state law.
We would appreciate your assistance in seeing that this is done as
soon as possible. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

partment now deems these buildings a public nuisance and an
attractive hazard to the surrounding neighborhood.
An inspection has been conducted by this department and we have
issued a condemnation of the buildings.
You are hereby ordered to obtain a demolition permit from this
department and demolish and clear property of all debris and unsightly
remains.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Carroll:
The vacant building and surrounding sheds at 1287 Chestnut Avenue have been inspected
by members of the City Building department to determine their compliance with the
Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings.
The building was found to be open, abandoned and in a dilapidated condition. Its
presence constitutes an attractive nuisance to children and a harbor for vagrants.
The accumulation of trash on the property is a fire and health hazard.
This Department hereby requests your immediate cooperation to demolish these build-
ings. Please obtain a demolition permit and complete demolition of all structures on
the property within thirty (30) days.
This letter will constitute final notice unless any person having record title or legal
interest in the premises files and appeal from this action in writing provided the
appeal is made within thirty (30) days and in the manner prescribed by law. Failure to
appeal will constitute a waiver of all right to an administrative hearing and deter-
mination of the matter.
If the required demolition work is not completed within the time specified, the matter
will be turned over to the City Attorney's office for prosecution-/
