Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans for residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be submitted in one of two ways: 1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92009, {760) 602- 2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments. 2. Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation, 9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments. NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil Corporation is complete. 1. The interior nonbearing walls must be designed to resist 5PSF out-of-plane load per UBC 1611.5. the braces at the top of the wall shown in 1/Tl-5 may not exceed 6'-0" OC to·comply with the code. 2. Two exits are required from the Meeting/Break Room #211. One of the exits may lead to the hallway which then leads to the fire rated corridor system. The 2nd . required exit must lead d_irectly to the fire rated corridor system. As shown on the floor plan the exits do no~ comply for this room. See USC Table 10-Aand : . It is not clear on the lighting plan how the multiple light control switching will be provided in the large open office area (Rooms 220 & 219). • MECHANICAL 5. Detail overflow (secondary) condensate discharge from air conditioning units that are in a ceiling space, to a readily observable location. (UMC Section 1105.12) 6. Provide smoke detection in the supply air duct of an "air-moving system' for required shut-off of equipment for smoke control. UMC Section 609.2. An "air- moving system" is a system designed to provide heating, cooling, or ventilation in which one or more air-handling units are used to supply air to a common space or to draw air from a common plenum or space. UMC Section 203.0. All HVAC units must be equipped with smoke detection as the systems mix and the combined CFM exceeds 2000. Goodsource is a food wholesaler. They purchase and distribute food -mostly frozen -to large institutional clients. The storage and test kitchen in their corporate headquarters has space to only to allow for the verification of product quality through random sampling. Food is not prepared for sale or mass consumption. A food establishment is defined by code CURFFL Section 11370 as a place where "unpackaged" food items are prepared for consumption. All products stored and tested in the GoodSource test kitchen are pre-packaged and require only reheating for sample testing. · Based on these facts, we feel the test kitchen in the GoodSource Corporate Offices do not requite an inspection.
