REMARKS: Onsite at 7:20 am as requested by Joe to inspect the west bottom of the 3-foot overexcavation
(OX) for the building pad located at the south end of the property; the exposed material was as found during our
investigation and summarized in our soils report of record, "Geotechnical Investigation 155 Chestnut Avenue -
(APN 204-234-15-00) Carlsbad, California" dated April 20, 2018; Joe and Gregorio moisture-conditioned and
compacted the OX bottom using a Wacker RT wide-wheeled trench compacter followed by track-rolfing using a
Kubota SVL 75-2 front-end loader with a full bucket; backfill was placed and compacted in 9-inch lifts; in addition
to the bottom, compaction tests were obtained at 1.5 feet (middle) and at 3.0 feet above the bottom (slab
subgrade); all test results met or exceeded 95% relative density as specified in our report and as detennined per
ASTMs D1557 & D6938; no exceptions on work perfonned today.
