within each six month period upon the initial commencement of work authorized by such permit.”
Before such work can be recommenced, a new pennit, or a renewal permit as specified in the attached copy of
the code, shall be obtained.
Any person holding an unexpired permit may apply for an extension of the time within which he may
commence work under that permit when he is unable to commence work within the time required by this
section for good and satisfactory reasons. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the
permittee for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the permittee showing that
circumstances beyond the control of the permittee have prevented action from being taken. No permit shall be
extended more than once.

We are in receipt of your letter dated October 11, 1999, requesting an extension of
the above referenced building permit.
Building permits issued prior to July 1, 1999, require an approved inspection within
one calendar year from the date the permit is paid for in order for it to remain an
active permit. Your building permit for the pool was issued on April 8, 1999,
therefore, since you have not requested any inspections your permit is not due to
expire until April 7, 2000. If you have not obtained any approved inspections for
permit CB991179 prior to this date, we will send a courtesy reminder to you
indicating that your permit is due to expire and give you the option to extend it at
no cost for 180 days. It is not necessary to extend the permit at this point.

Due to complications with my homeowner’s association, I have not been able to start the job and I am postponing construction. I hope these complications will get resolved in a timely manner. It is my
