The wall in question will be located at the top of the stair landing within the loft option on the second floor (see attached floor plan exhibit). The owner has requested that we replace the banisterhailing (which has open spacing between posts) with a floor-to-ceiling 2x6 stud wall, anchored into existing floor, ceiling and adjacent wall framing. This wall will be finished with standard drywall and electrical receptacles will be added per code. He is requesting this due to the fact that he has two very small children who will be playing in this loft area, and he wants to ensure their safety. As this detail is currently not shown on the approved plans, we are hereby requesting your approval of this specific modification. Thank you for your consideration.
