For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be submitted in one of two ways: 1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760) 602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments. 2. Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments. NOTE: The remaining items listed below have not been adequately addressed. The notes in bold are the current corrections. 1. The new wall construction legend found on sheet A2.1 references construction details that do not apply to the walls. Wall type '1' is referenced to detail 15/D1 .2. this detail is an egress sign. Wall type '2' is referenced to 8/D1 .2. This detail does not depict an in-fill wall. Wall type '3' is referenced to 12/D1 .2. detail 12/D1 .2 is the supporting track for a SGD. Provide accurate references that apply to the proposed wall conditions. Details have been corrected but there are no details on the plans for the full height glass walls to show how the walls are supported top and bottom or the thickness of the temp glass. The glass window/wall schedule on sheet A2.1 references detail X/D1 .2. There is no detail X on sheet D1 .2. 2. Provide an accurate structural detail for the conference room with sloped walls. Clearly show how you intend to provide structural stability for the out of plumb walls. The architectural details are limited and do not depict a sable wall condition. The sloped walls have been deleted and the conference room no longer is shown on the floor plan. The sections 1 & 2/ A4.1 are incorrectly referenced on sheet A2.1. sections 1 & 2 referenced on sheet A2.1 are incorrectly numbered. 4. The out-of-plane lateral support detail 8/D1 .2 shows off set braces at 8' -0" OC. To comply with the code for 5 PSF out of plane load on the wall the braces may not exceed 6'-0" OC. The response indicates "reduced spacing to 6'-0" OC ". The detail 8/D1 .2 still lists the diagonal wall bracing at 8'-0" OC. • NON-RESIDENTIAL GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS Carlsbad CBC2017-0509 8/24/18 (Additions and Alterations) 14. Note on the plans that prior to final inspection the licensed contractor, architect or engineer in responsible charge of the overall construction must provide to the building department official written verification that all applicable provisions from the Green Building Standards Code have been implemented as part of the construction. CGC 102.3. I did not find this note on sheet GN1 .2 with the other Green Code notes.
