This letter is to verify and authorize the use of flex duct work in the construction of the
Astor Broadcasting office and studio. Though the plans reflect metal duct work, using
properly sized flexible duct is permitted.
The zone dampering system designed for the studios and some of the offices has been
eliminated for cost reduction purposes. This should not affect the performance of the
specified HVAC equipment.

equipment where Isc exceeds 10,000 amps.
3. Show the ampere interrupting capacity (AIC) ratings of the existing service and new
subservice equipment. NEC 110-9, 230-65.
4. Show or note on the plans, the method used to limit fault currents to 10,000 amps
on branch circuits.
5. Submit load calculations. Include long continuous loads (LCL) and the largest motor
loads. NEC 220.
6. Show or identify new loads proposed for the existing equipment.
7. Indicate main service size (amperage rating) and the total load demand on the
service.
8. Specify the wiring method you intend to use for this project (Le., EMT, Metal Flex,
NMC etc.). NEC 110-3(a) and (b).
9. Show on the plan the location of the existing service. NEC 110-16,230-2.
10.Show exit signs on the lighting plan(s) (such as in room 105) at all required exits and

11. Provide a minimum of 1 foot-candle of emergency illumination at the floor level and
