I performed a shop welding inspection at the Weigle Welding and Fabrication shop at 3314 Ybarra Rd., Spring Valley, Ca. as noted below. · Certified welder: Marcus Weigle. Filler metal: Lincoln Electric: E71 T-8-H16. Base metal: ASTM A500 (verified by mill certs.) Completed welds: 1 /4" fillet welds all around connecting the HSS4x2x3/16" members at each end to each of the inside face of the HSS1 Ox2x3/16" members. PJP grove welds connecting the outside of the mitered corner and a 1 /4" fillet weld at the inside of the mitered corner of the HSS1 Ox2x3/16" members. 1 /4" fillet welds all around connecting the square cornered end of the HSS 1 Ox2x3/16" members. Per dets. 4/S1 .1. These welds occurred at each of (12) eyebrow sections. Note: Upon visual inspection the welds are in substantial conformance with plan details and AWS 01 .1 standards. No discrepancies were observed or noted. All work is subject to City of Carlsbad approval. I observed the installation procedures of the Simpson Titen HD anchors into the (E) concrete tilt up panels as noted below. Anchor size: 5/8" x 5". Locations: 24" oc. T. & B. at each of (12) eyebrow canopy sections. Approx. (32) anchors at the HSS frame around the (N) opening in the (E) North wall. · Hole diameters: 5/8". Effective embedment: 4-3/4". Note: The holes were drilled with a rotary hammer drill and carbide tipped bit followed by brushing with a nylon brush and blowing out with compressed air. The anchors were driven in by means of an electric impact torque rating of 320 ft.lbs and no anchors exceeded the maximum torque of 100ft. lbs. all per ESR-2713 Table 1. No failures occurred. The entire procedure meets or exceeds plan details and ESR-2713 requirements. No discrepancies were observed or noted. All work is subject to City of Carlsbad approval.
