This plan review is limited to the technical requirements contained in the Uniform Building Code,
Uniform Plumbing Code, Uniform Mechanical Code, National Electrical Code and state laws
regulating energy conservation, noise attenuation and disabled access. This plan review is
based on regulations enforced by the Building Department. You may have other corrections
based on laws and ordinances enforced by the Planning Department, Engineering Department
or other departments.
The following items listed need clarification, modification or change. All items must be satisfied
before the plans will be in conformance with the cited codes and regulations. Per Sec. 106.4.3,
1997 Uniform Building Code, the approval of the plans does not permit the violation of any
state, county or city law.
A. Please make all corrections on the original tracings and submit three new sets of prints to:
ESGIL CORPORATION.
B. To facilitate rechecking, please identify, next to each item, the sheet of the plans upon
which each correction on this sheet has been made and return this sheet with the
revised plans.
C. The following items have not been resolved from the previous plan reviews. The original
correction number has been given for your reference. In case you did not keep a copy of
the prior correction list, we have enclosed those pages containing the outstanding
corrections. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding these items.

Please make all corrections on the original tracings, as requested in the correction
list. Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans
for residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be
submitted in one of two ways:
1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760)
602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad
Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
2. Bring one corrected set of plans and calculationsh-eports to EsGil Corporation,
9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468.
Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be
reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by
EsGil Corporation is complete.
These corrections are in response to items not fully addressed or as the
result of information provided, the text in bold print indicates the
unresolved issue.
9. Please provide plans and calculations signed by the California State licensed
engineer or architect for the structural support of the 700# rooftop air handler
units. Include all calculations and finding on the plans. Please include the
California license number, seal, date of license expiration and date plans are
signed. Business and Professions Code. Please have the structural
engineer review the floor system and provide plans and calculations for
the support of the two 900# water heaters.
On the cover sheet of the plans, specify any items requiring special
inspection, in a format similar to that shown below. Section 106.3.2.

require Special Inspection in accordance with Sec. 1701 of the Uniform

comply with the 2001 edition of the California Building Code (Title 24), which
adopts the 1997 UBC, 2000 UMC, 2000 UPC and the 1999 NEC.
3. The maximum number of required exits and their required separation must be
maintained until egress is provided from the structure, please provide a plan
showing the path of egress from the second floor to the public way. Section
1004.2.3.1.

PREPARATORY PLUMBING SPECS 8 GUIDELINES
HYDROTONE THERMAL M
The following information is to assist the Plumbing Contractor in preparation for the
delivery and installation of the Hydrotone Thermal M. All plumbing work performed
must be in accordance with local and national codes. An Installation & User Guide
is supplied with the equipment.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Hydrotone Thermal M is a stand alone Hydrotherapy capsule. The 314" hot &
cold supply lines are to be connected. A 2" drain connection is to be made.
The 3/4" hot & cold supply lines and 2" drain should exit the floor as shown
in the floor plans provided. An additional floor drain in room is required.
Hot & cold water supply lines are to be connected to the 3/4" female
unions located at rear side of the Table (underside). Note: Ensure water
lines are purged of sand, grit etc prior to final connection of unit. It is
-ecommended that in-line servicable water strainers are fitted.
I The 2" Table drain is to be connected to the drain.
An operating water pressure between 43.5PSI and 145 PSI max is allowed
For optimum shower performance a pressure of approximately 60-7OPSI
is recommended.
An operating hot water supply temperature of between 50 celcius (122
fahrenheit and 60 celcius (140 fahrenheit) is required For optimum steam
performance a hot water supply of 60 celcius (140 fahrenhert) is recommended
The Hydrotone Thermal M has a steam / shower system that utilizes
approximately 250 litres (65 gallons) per 30 minute treatment. Assume
170 litres (45 gallons) of this to be hot water. Based upon the number of
treatments daily, an appropriate hot water supply needs to be installed. Note: water consumption is based upon HydroCo treatment procedures.

WOWTONE THERMAL M
The Hydrotone Thermal M is a two-in-one body treatment capsule incorporating
steam, aromatherapy and Vichy shower. It is manually controlled by the Therapist
via controls situated on the wet table. Varied treatments may be performed alone
or as a Spa package. The Therapist stays dry as all splash is contained within the
capsule and the bather' privacy and comfort is maintained. The products are I applied directly onto the bather and the capsule lid is lowered - no more messy
plastic wraps and less towels are used lowering the laundry costs. L \ TREATMENT SU--- NS
Facials, eye zone and neck treatments, body polish and exfoliation, seaweed, mud,
algaes and aromatherapy are some of the various treatments performed in the
Thermal M. We recommend a value-added package is offered that includes face
and body especially for "time-poor" executives and corpwafe clients. This is also
recommended for gift vouchers - use a price point system rather than specific
treatments to reduce any problems after the client consultation.
Detoxifying, Cellullte, Remineralization, Renewal, De-Stress, Tonifying.
Pre-warm the wet table and assist bather to lie down. Begin by dry-brushing the
bather's ankles in upward strokes for approx 5 minutes. Then apply body exfoliant
begin at ankles and work in upward strokes - start wrth the leg fartherest from you.
After completion of exfoliation use the hand shower set at 38 degrees celcius to
rinse the product off. Whilst the bather is in sitting position apply the appropriate
body masque to the back region and assist them to lay down. Apply product to the
rest of the body being mindful to begin with the limb fartherest from you. Don't apply
body masque to the nail beds (hand or feet), apply a suitable hydrating product on
these areas and value -add as a Spa Pedicure I Manicure. Lower the capsule lid
ask the bather to pass any "modesty towelling" to you when the lid is almost closed.
Advise the bather once again where the panic button is, start the steam and apply
5-6 drops of an appropriate aromatherapy oil to the aromatherapy pod. The bather
will be able to enjoy a relaxing facial Ireatment, eye zone and dewllatage treatment
at this time. Check the temperature of the steam is comfortable for the bather, apply
a cool compress to the forehead and complete the relaxation process with scalp
massage. After approx 20 minutes, it is time to shower the bather. Ask the bather
to move legs to one side of the capsule whilst you check the thermastatic mixing
valve is set to approx 38 degrees celcius and turn on the foot showerhead. Ask the
bather to sample the temperature, then turn each showerhead on working upwards.
Always shower off in sequential patterns ie. foot to head, alternate etc ... You may
change the temperature if required. It is refreshing to take the temperature cooler
for added tonifying benefits. Shower the bather for approx 3 minutes. Then turn the
showerheads off, lift the capsule lid a fraction and pass the bather a large bath sheet
to cover their body. This prevents the cold feeling the body will experience and also
maintains their privacy. Assist the bather into a sitting position with legs over the
wet table. Assist the bather into their robe and offer a cup of tepid water.
