1. Provide design calculations to show that the proposed free standing
interior walls as shown on A404 can withstand the code required loads
listed in UBC 161 1.5. Include as part of the plans structural details for the
anchorage of the free standing partitions. The correction was to design
and detail the freestanding interior walls. The response was “Details
indicated on structural drawings S101” There is nothing on sheet S-
101 that addresses the construction of the freestanding walls or a
justification for the anchorage of the freestanding walls to resist the
code required 5PSF lateral load on the wall.
2. Provide ceiling framing plan. It appears from sheet A601 that the ceiling is
to be finished with gyp board. The only area designated as Open Ceiling is
the stock room. Provide ceiling framing for all other areas. Response
indicates “Details indicated on structural drawings S-101” Sheet S-
101 shows the suspended ceiling framing that complies with the
code but architectural plan sheet A601 does not show the extent of
the suspended ceiling or the ceiling framing where there is no
suspended ceiling. Please clarify.
