Please make all corrections on the original tracings, as requested in the correction
list. Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans
for residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be
submitted in one of two ways:
Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760)
602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad
Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation,
9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468.
Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be
reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by
EsGil Corporation is complete.
2. Provide a fully dimensioned floor plan in addition to the demo showing the size
and use of all rooms or areas within the space being improved or altered. Show
all cabinets, equipment, office cubicles, laboratory work stations etc. Sec.
Al 07.2. The response sheet and the cover sheet of the plans indicate see
sheet A-3 yet the set does not contain an A-3?
Please provide the UL listing and manufacturer's installation information for all
new equipment to be installed (Laser, Chiller etc). Show all new equipment to be
installed. Show all electrical requirements, plumbing requirements, exhaust or
mechanical requirements, operational weight, anchorage and seismic restraints if
required etc. Section 107.2. The electrical plans indicate new electrical to a
new Laser and Chiller? Please clarify the plans and provide the listing and
installation information.
Please provide plans and calculations signed by the California State licensed
engineer or architect for the structural support of the 565# rooftop air handler unit
and roof screening. Include all calculations and finding on the plans. Please
include the California license number, seal, date of license expiration and date
plans are signed. Business and Professions Code. The roof screening details
on sheet ADI reference detail 7/SDI yet there is no sheet SDI as part of
this set?
10. Show a level area, or landing, per Section 1133B.2.4.2:
a) —>60" in the direction of door swing at the door to the vestibule at the new
stair (access.) The corridor to the stairs does not appear to be 60" in
the direction of the door swing.

This plan review is limited to the technical requirements contained in the California version of
the International Building Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, Uniform Mechanical Code, National
Electrical Code and state laws regulating energy conservation, noise attenuation and access for
the disabled. This plan review is based on regulations enforced by the Building Department.

Please make all corrections on the original tracings, as requested in the correction
list. Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans
for residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be
submitted in one of two ways:
Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760)
602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad
Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation,
9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468.
Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be
reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by
EsGil Corporation is complete.
A complete description of the activities and processes that will occur in this
tenant space should be provided (not the outdoor storage). A listing of all
hazardous materials should be included. The materials listing should be stated in
a form that would make classification in Tables 307.7(1) and 307.7(2) possible.
The building official requires a technical report to identify and develop methods
of protection from hazardous materials. Section 307.7.
2. Provide a fully dimensioned floor plan in addition to the demo showing the size
and use of all rooms or areas within the space being improved or altered. Show
all cabinets, equipment, office cubicles, laboratory work stations etc. Sec.
A107.2.
Please clarify the plans to show the door to the stair enclosure to be the same
rating as the enclosure. Correct the keynote at the new door.
Please provide the UL listing and manufacturer's installation information for all
new equipment to be installed (Laser, Chiller etc). Show all new equipment to be
installed. Show all electrical requirements, plumbing requirements, exhaust or
mechanical requirements, operational weight, anchorage and seismic restraints if
required etc. Section 107.2.
Please provide plans and calculations signed by the California State licensed
engineer or architect for the structural support of the 565# rooftop air handler unit
and roof screening. Include all calculations and finding on the plans. Please
include the California license number, seal, date of license expiration and date
plans are signed. Business and Professions Code.
Clearly indicate on the plans the fume hood exhaust ventilation system
compliance with UMC Chapters 5 & 6.

Detail the required make-up air as per UMC, it appears there is not

The area of specific alteration, repair or addition must comply as "new"
construction.
A primary entrance to the building and the primary path of travel to the
altered area, must be shown to comply with all accessibility features.
C) Existing sanitary facilities that serve the remodeled area must be shown to

8. It is unclear from the plans if the restrooms servicing the tenant improvement are

I am writing in reference to a Phase III of the Sendx Medical Inc. tenant improvements. Based
on information provided by Sendx Medical Inc. [see attached letter], the Phase Ill tenant
improvements do not affect any changes to quantities or locations of any of the hazardous
materials [indoors or outdoors].
Based on the above information, we do not believe a new technical report is needed for this
phase of the tenant improvements. Should plans and TI scope change resulting in changes to
hazardous materials quantities and/or locations, Sendx Medical Inc. agrees to inform Carlsbad
Fire Department of these changes.
