pole/pedestal within 10 feet of transformer D208852. Customer to provide all
trench, excavation, 2-inch conduit, backfill, compaction and 3/4" pulling and
measuring tape from transformer to meter panel. Customer to trench to corner
of transformer pad as instructed by SDG&E Trench Inspector, SDG&E to install
customer-provided sweep into transformer. If selected, Customer assumes
responsibility for condition of existing stubs. NOTE: If on private property,
acquire permission. Temporary fee of $766.00 will appear on first month's bill.

• When trench is backfilled and compacted, CALL FOR INSPECTION .
• If service entrance equipment is installed after backfill, CALL FOR INSPECTION OF THE EQUIPMENT .

citv/countv/state insoection clearance.

Upon review of fuel usage and delivery records of the applicant, it was found that aaJ?:e~9e to tQ.et~e -~a

Electrical items Critical to the correct installation of a ConVault Tank System are:
a} hazardous area wiring, b} emergency electri~al shutoff switch, and c) grounding.
Flammable liquids will require hazardou~ area electrical work including: pumps and
equipment rated by U.L. or FM for hazardous service, heavy wall conduit
aboveground in the area of the tank, and appropriate junction boxes. Equipment
not rated for hazardous areas must be located outside the zones described by
local codes.
An emergency electrical disconnect is required to be mounted in a location visible from
the dispenser. The switch is .normally mounted on a building wall or a post. The
switch must be marked as an emergency shutoff switch.
Electrical grounding is required for flammable liquid tanks. The tanks include a ground-
ing lug on the 2 inch nipple used for the vent pipe.

Project: Aboveground Fuel Storage System
Dear Mr. Pet~rson:
Pursuant to the direction of Chief Michael Smith, City of Carlsbad Fire Department, we are
requesting here an electrical permit for our n~w Aboveground Fuel Storage System. The
aboveground system replaces two former underground tanks which have been removed under
County of San Diego, Department of Environment Health.
For the new system, we have obtained the appropriate permits from the local APCD, as well as
Carlsbad Fire Department permit. Under our Authority to Construct from APCD, and under the
Fire Department permit, copy attached, a 4,000 gallon split-compartment aboveground triple wall
fuel storage tank has been installed. Two existing dispensers-one gasoline and one diesel-have
been reinstalled. The manufacturer's recommended specifications for the concrete foundation,
seismic dimensions, and spill containment have been constructed. We have also complied with
the Uniform Fire Code. Plans and specifications for the system are enclosed for your review.
Chief Smith has told us to obtain an electrical permit for this system from your office. Thank you
