This request is consistent with the Municipal Code Section 21.10.040. The lot is 80 feet wide, thus the required setback is 8 feet without the special circumstances applied to this lot. My house sits 17 feet from the westerly boundary and 5 feet from the easterly boundary. I am not changing the westerly setback, but would like to reduce the easterly setback to 5 feet. 69 feet of open space would remain between the East Side of my house and the closest structure on the adjacent property.
