SUBJECT: REPORT OF FOUNDATION EXCAVATION OBSERVATIONS
Aviara 5, Lots 123-126 (Aviara Phase 1, Unit C), Carlsbad, California

J)3-126 (A,viara Phase I, Unit C), Carlsbad, California, Project No. 0046-001-
00, Document No. 12-0037, May 6.
Dear Ms. Raszewski:
This report confirms that the foundation excavations for lots 123 through 126 were observed on
June 21, 2013. The foundations are conventional shallow footings bearing on compact sub grade
soil consisting of silty sand. Compaction of the site fills are documented in the referenced As-
Graded Geotechnical Report. In general, our observations confirm that the soil conditions are as
assumed in our referenced report. Foundations were excavated to at least the minimum
recommended depth and width. The bearing soils consist of compacted fill considered to have a
low expansion potential. The foundation design parameters provided in the referenced report
remain applicable to the planned construction.
