PERMIT #95-786
Dear Mr Peterson,
We are writing In reference to the above subject project as per the field inspector request We
had specified type TW wire on the approved contract documents and the electrical contractor
has Installed type THHN wire The installed type THHN wire is a higher grade and temperature
rated wire and is hereby approved as an alternate wire for this installation
The Issue of a 100% ground bar was also raised from the contract documents and our intention
for that specification was to provide one ground lug for each circuit on the 42 circuit panel In
which the electrical contractor has provided an extra ground bar.
Another item which differs from the contract documents and may be raised by the field inspector
was the Neutral wire size was increased to 200% of it's full load This was discussed as an extra
degree of safety for the clean power requirement by the tenant
We hope the above Information Is clear and should you require any further Information please
feel free to contact our office

which will heat or cool this zone during the design conditions indicated.
These numbers include no safety factor, and the HVAC contractor should
oversize by a reasonable margin to account for variations in weather
conditions and the pick-up capacity required to bring the zone to temper-

equipment selection should note that Sensible and Latent Cooling Loads are
indicated to allow for accurate comparison with manufacturer's output data.

The 693C Outdoor Sections of Split-System Heat Pumps are de-
signed for quiet, reliable heating during the winter and cooling
during the summer These heat pump systems provide economi-
cal operation through energy conservation They recover heat for
indoor comfort from outdoor air during the heating season and,
by automatically reversing the refngerant cycle, remove indoor
heat and excess humidity during the cooling season All models
are listed with UL, CSA, ARI, and CEC
FEATURES
ELECTRICAL RANGE—All units are offered in single-phase 208/
230v, with 036, 048 and 060 models available in 208/230v, 3
phase and 460v, 3 phase
COMPRESSOR—This unit features the scroll compressor, ex-
cept the 036 3 phase which features a reciprocating compressor
Each compressor is mounted on rubber isolators for additional
sound reduction The scroll compressor does not require a crank-
case heater (except in 3-phase application) and will start under
most system loads, thus eliminating the need for start assistance
components Continuous operation is approved down to — 30 T
(-34 4°C) in the heating mode and down to 55°F (12 8"C) in the
cooling mode (See heating and cooling performance tables) The
scroll compressor is covered with a standard 5-year limited
warranty
BUILT-IN-RELIABILITY COMPONENTS—Includes a suction
tube accumulator that keeps liquid refngerant from reaching the
compressor, a discharge temperature limit switch (018-042
sizes) to protect the scroll compressor from excessive internal
discharge temperatures under extreme operating conditions, i e
loss of charge, failure of evaporator fan, built-in compressor inter-
nal pressure equalization (048,060 sizes) to limit excessive pres-
sure build-up, and a high-pressure switch for high-pressure
protection
DEFROST CONTROL BOARD—Incorporates a built-in b-minute
compressor time-delay relay, defrost relay, defrost timer, and
low-voltage wire leads The defrost control is a time/temperature
initiation/termination control which includes 3 field-selectable time
periods of 30, 50, and 90 minutes
WEATHER-PROTECTIVE CABINET—Steel is protected with a
heavy coating commonly called "galvanizing," then coated with a
layer of zinc phosphate to which a coat of modified polyester
powder coating is applied and baked-on This provides each unit
with a hard, smooth finish that will last for many years
All screws on cabinet extenor are coated for a long-lasting, rust-
resistant, quality appearance
UNIT DESIGN—All units are equipped with totally enclosed fan
motors for greater reliability under rain and snow conditions The
large, wraparound coil uses copper tube and enhanced aluminum
fin and is designed for optimum heat transfer during heating and
cooling The vertical air discharge carries the sound and air up and
away from adjacent patio areas and foliage Coils can be cleaned
with a common garden hose
EXTERNAL SERVICE VALVES—Both service valves are brass,
front seating type with sweat connections Each valve has a ser-
vice port for ease of checking operating refngerant pressures
Valves are externally located so refngerant tube connections can
be made quickly and easily A third service port is located on the
service panel for ease of checking operating suction pressure in
the heating mode
WARRANTY—Standard 1-year on all parts, with an additional 4
years on compressor

* The ampacity of non-metallic (NM) sheathed cable shall be that of 60°C (140° F) conductors per NEC 1990, Article 336-26 If wire used is other than specified in
chart, refer to applicable tables available in 1990 NEC Copper wire must be used from disconnect to unit
t The factory refrigerant charge is sufficient for systems requiring up to 25 ft of interconnecting tubing For tubing lengths other than 25 ft, see Long-Line
Application Guideline for additional refrigerant requirements
t Single-phase units may use fuses or HACR-type circuit breakers (U S only) of same size as noted
ft Length shown is as measured 1 way along the wire path between the unit and the service panel for a voltage drop not to exceed 2%
it Used with low-ambient controller
ttt For indicator light function, thermostat specified must be used and wired according to Service Alarm Installation Instructions

Practicality & Performance
Reliability, dependability, and great value—the FB4A/FB5A Fan
Coils The unit is compact, easy to install, with capacities ranging
from 18,000 to 60,000 Btuh, and are available in sizes from 1 -1/2
to 5 ton standard models and 3-1/2 to 5 ton in modular versions
The units are the right choice if you need versatility and af-
fordabihty in a fan coil
These models of fan coils offer an air handler for practical, no-
nonsense application and outstanding performance The multi-
poise units (FB4A) allow greater flexibility in meeting your upflow,
downflow or horizontal installation requirements, with reliable
sweat connections and multiple electric entry to permit quick,
hassle-free hookup Refer to Product Offering Chart following
Features in publication
All models feature the components you need and expect, such as
a grooved copper tubing and lanced sine wave aluminum fin Ev-
ery unit also comes fully equipped with solid state cooling con-
trols, with each terminal board pre-wired to accept an electronic
air cleaner and/or humidifier
These units are designed with an easily accessible Check-Flo-
Rater® for efficient and dependable metering of the refrigerant
The Check-Flo-Rater allows for piston changeout, routine main-
tenance, and improved system reliability Other features incorpo-
rated in the fan coils are a boehmited coil, dedicated refrigerant
circuitry, and high-density insulation
The FB4A/FB5A, with its 3-speed motor in the 042 through 070
sizes and 2-speed motor in the 018 through 036 sizes, and field-
or factory-installed heater packages, provides the application ver-
satility you require for most installations The heater packages are
available from 3 through 30 kw, either fused or with a circuit
breaker, or non-fused for 10 kw and less
Homeowners like the compact size and attractive linish of the
units, and appreciate the low-maintenance, easy-to-clean perma-
nent filter in our multipoise units There are plenty of reasons
to choose the Model FB4A/FB5A Fan Coil—just check the
specifications
