preparation. (California Business and Professions Code).
Provide mechanical ventilation capable of providing five air changes per
hour in bathrooms and water closet compartments if required openable
windows are not provided. Section 1203.3.
Please provide details on the plans showing all penetrations of
fire-resistive walls, floor-ceilings and roof-ceilings to be protected as
required in UBC Sections 709 and 710. See new recessed lighting in the
hallway for type A suites.

IO. New showers are proposed for the disabled accessible units,please show
or note compliance with the following requirements, per Section 11 15B.6.2
and California Plumbing Code:
a) Compartments are either:
i)

42" in width between wall surfaces, and 48 minimum in depth
(having an entrance opening 2 42), or,
260" in width between wall surfaces, and 30 minimum in
depth (having a full opening width on the long side). As an
alternate, showers 60" minimum in width may be 36"
minimum in depth as long as the entrance opening width is a
minimum of 36 inches.
b) Grab bars comply with Section 11 15B.8 located:

If a threshold or recessed drop is used, it shall be:

Indicate a folding seat, located on the wall adiacent to the controls,

The soapdish shall be located on the control wall 540" above the
shower floor.
A flexible hand-held shower unit is required with:

held unit in areas subject to excessive vandalism, per Section 5-
1505.
