The licensed designer must sign the approved set of the plans. 2; New plans (Admittedly much more complete) have been submitted. The following corrections are based upon the new design. Confirm with the City that a mechanical permit has been issued or if one is required for the mechanical equipment changes on the rooftop. ELECTRICAL (1999 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE) The revised service room layout doesn't meet required Code clearances. (Twice the clearance is required for the 1,200 ampere service if one door is used and the door edge is too close to the service). Please address. Describe the ventilation provided in the main service/photovoltaic equipment room. Heat removal will be required. The maintenance hanger feeder does not contain an equipment ground and the neutral is unbonded? Please review and revise. The typical arrangement from the panels to the combiner boxes: I'm not sure why the conduit spacing at the combiner box? The protective EMT must be bonded however. The derating for the number of conductors is (Maximum 6 conductors) 80% not the 1.0 used. Please clarify that a maximum of 6 conductors (If this is the .case) are permitted interior of the conduit system on the roof layout plan. A plaque is also required adjacent to the maintenance building disconnecting means announcing the existence of a solar system feed. + Overall an excellent solar design. ELECTRICAL (1999 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE) Clarify the feeder conductor sizing and number of conductors for the "DEFG" conductor descriptions. I see the schedule however it is not clear as to whether the number of conductors is three per phase or a total of three. Complete the equipment grounding/grounding electrode description on the single line diagram: •• Size of conductor from the meter/disconnect switch. + Size of conductor to the inverter •• Connection to collector boxes and panels. •• Equipment ground from the meter to the isolation transformer. Provide calculations for the 2/0 conductors from the collector boxes to the inverter. It appears vastly oversized and as such is not a Code violation. I'm curious as to how the size was determined. Include the equipment layout position on the building floorplans: The inverter, collection boxes unit meter, transformer and disconnect switches. Describe this facility: It is described on the plans as administrative offices and hanger? Be sure to describe the classified locations on the floorplan and isolate any solar photovoltaic equipment from these areas.
