Please make all corrections on the original tracings, as requested in the correction list.
Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans for
residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be submitted in one
of two ways:
1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760) 602-
2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad Planning,
Engineering and Fire Departments.
2. Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation, 9320
Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver all
remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building
Department for routing to the.ir Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be reviewed by
the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil Corporation is
complete. These corrections are in response to items not fully addressed or as the
result of information provided, the text in bold print indicates the unresolved
issue.
1. When the character of the occupancy or use changes within a building, the
building must be made to comply with current Building Code requirements for the
· new occupancy. Please provide complete details to show the building will

2. Exit doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel when serving an occupant

1. When the character of the occupancy or use changes within a building, the
building must be made to comply with current Building Code requirements for the

6. Show two sources of power for the lamps at exit signs. Section 1011.5.3.
7. Show that the means of egress path will be lighted with at least one foot candle
at floor level. Section 1-006.
8. Show separate sources of power may be required for exit illumination. Review
Section 1006.3.
9. Please revise the plans to show the required emergency egress lighting per
· section 1006.3 of the CBC.

-Provide an Egress Plan that indicates path of Exit travel. Also Identify Occupant load for

-Denote on Plan the type of existing Exit door hardware (panic hardware, lever latch, etc.) or
new hardware that will be used on all Exit doors leading to building exterior and from one
interior space to another interior space (into lobby and into therapy areas) Identify existing or
new exit door widths.
-Clarify the following on sheet A2.1: the plan shows what appears to be a sliding door
(shaded area) between corridor 101 and lobby room 100, which is part of the identified exit
from the building. Verify type of wall or door in this area, or if existing door or wall is
removed and if passage is completely open and provide width of opening. Also, clarify on plan
and written response the same for exit door leading into open therapy area thru room or area
109. Denote any changes or corrections on plan.
-Add note: "The type, rating and number of fire extinguishers shall comply with 2010 CFC,
section 906.3. A minimum of two fire extinguishers rated at 2A-10BC shall be provided.
