Structural Observation ' Dear Ben Upon your request, I made an initial structural observation for the temporary structures at the subject event location on February 20, 2004 Following is the summary of my observation comments and recommendations A On Trophy Suites There are six(6) suites at #9 Green and two(2) suits at #16 Green The terrain at both locations are roughly 20% slope ascending toward the rear. Each suite(trailer) is supported, by four(4) legs on each corner. Typical steel base plate at WWw Jack IS l/4"x8"x8" and u Supported 6rt two layers of double 2x12 wood pads on the grass Based upon the estimated weight of 12,000 Ibs of dead load and 5,000 Ibs of hve load Each lead exerts approximately 1,000 psf on the ground and is about the maximum pressure permitted for such an application 1 At #9 Green- An legs appear to be well supported However, it's recommended that twelve(t2) ground stakes be dnven tightly against the lower wood pads, especially use fbur(4) stakes at the lowest corner support to prevent any potential sliding. Two stairs have treads extended beyond the handrail extension may require adjustment to pass the inspection. Typically, the lower landing is much wider than the stairs flight and may also require modification if inspector insists on handrail continuity An access ramp is still under planning to connect the suite, a court yard and the car path 2 At #16 Green. All legs appear to be well supported However, it's recommended that six(6) ground stakes be driven tightly against the lower wood pads Conditions at stairs exist as described at #9 Green Page 1 of 2 O2X23X2OOM 1 Z 5 •••«-» 1-1 FROM .Universal Structures FRX NO 8587596132 Feb 22 2004 10 00PM P2 B On Bleachers 1 At #1 Green* There is gap between the base plate and the wood pad in some locations on the east bleachers and need to be shimmed as tight as possible Also, the ramp slope appears to be steeper than 1 in 12 and need to be redirected in order to the ADA requirements 2 At #10 Green Overall, all legs are well braced and supported except two over the planter box cap pieces appear to be not even. However, according to Mike of T&B, solid blocks were installed to provide firm bases A ramp with lift is still under erection 3 At Practice The twin bleachers appear to be well supported by leveling the dirt along the slope The supports at the Trophy Suites are undergoing settlement adjustment process due to their heavy weight and the soft ground conditions Their leveling should be checked either visually or by tool within next 48 hours and adjustments to the jack screws should be made as needed Thank you for jjsing my service.
