along line 2 -2 is resisted by the structural beams. What is the lateral force along
line 3 - 3 ? Provide calculations to show the shear wall and hold down
anchors are adequate.
B).There is minimum edge distance requirement for the epoxy anchor(lCB0
# 4945). Check the report and note or show the edge distance on the plan.

The above regulations apply to residential construction, regardless of the code editions adopted
by ordinance.

Note on the plans that "all weather-exposed surfaces shall have a
weather-resistive barrier to protect the interior wall covering and that exterior
openings shall be flashed in such a manner as to make them weatherproof".

Provide framing sections through dressing room Section 302 (d). Is the wall for
dressing room new? or existing ? Is dressing room new conditioned floor area?
Page 4 of the calculations shows the 8 x 10 beam connect to existing 4 x 10
beam by 3/4 " bolts @ 16 "O.C. staggered. The detail 3418 or the framing plan
did not show it.
Provide calculaitons to justify that the deflection for the TS 6x6x1/4 columns at
front entry comply with UBC 2334(h) drift limitation.(.oo5 x h)
Provide calculaitons to show that the grade beam undeneath the TS 6x6
columns at front entry does not need any shear reinforcement.
Provide complete lateral force analysis for the project since a lot of interior walls
have been removed. The shear force for the premeter wall may be changed. The
analysis shall show the force in east-west direction too.
The schematic plan shown in the calculaiton does not match the floor framing
plan. Please check.
Provide calcualtion to show that the stress for the columns under combined axial
and bending loading are under the allowable stress.
Provide calculations to show that the deflection for all columns comply with UBC

MECHANICAL (UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE)
Note on the plans that the FAU closet or alcove must be 12 inches wider than
the furnace or furnaces being installed. UMC Section 704.
Note on plan: Gas vents and noncombustible piping in walls, passing through
three floors or less, shall be effectively draft stopped at each floor or ceiling.

Note on the plans that receptacle outlet locations will comply with 1990 NEC Art.
210-52(a).
Show on the plans that countertop receptacle outlets comply with 1990 NEC Art.
210-52(c), which reads as follows:
In kitchens and dining areas of dwelling units a receptacle outlet shall be
installed at each counter space wider than 12 inches. Receptacles shall be
installed so that no point along the wall line is more than 24 inches measured
horizontally from a receptacle outlet in that space. Island and peninsular
countertops 12 inches or wider shall have at least one receptacle for each four
feet of counter top. Counter top spaces separated by range tops, refrigerators, or
sinks shall be considered as separate counter top spaces. Receptacles
rendered inaccessible by appliances fastened in place or appliances occupying
dedicated space shall not be considered as these required outlets.
Show on the plan that ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection complies with
1990 NEC Art. 21 0-8, which reads as follows:
All 125-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20- ampere receptacles installed in bathroom

PLUMBING (UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE)
New water closets and associated flushometer valves, if any, shall use no more
than 1.6 gallons per flush and shall meet performance standards established by
the American National Standards Institute Standard AI 12.19.2, and urinals and
associated flushometer valves, if any, shall use no more than one gallon per
flush and shall meet performance standards established by the American
National Standards Institute Standard A1 12.19.2. H & S Code, Section
17921.3(b).
ENERGY CONSERVATION
NOTE: Plans submitted after January 1, 1993 must comply with the new energy
standards.
Provide plans, calculations and worksheets to show compliance with current
energy standards.
All energy items shown on the plans must be in agreement with the information
shown on the properly completed Form CF-IR.
