1. Please make all corrections on the original tracings and submit two new sets of

2. Each sheet of the plans must be signed by the person responsible for their
preparation, even though there are no structural Ghanges. B_usiness and
Professions Code.
3. Provide a note on the plans indicating if any hazardous materials will be stored
and/or used within the buildin9 which exceed the quantities listed in USC Tables
.9-A and 9-8.
4. Provide a statement on the Title Sheet of the plans that this project shall comply
with Title 24 and 1991 USC, UMC ar:1d UPC and 1990 NEC.
5. Note on the plans: "All interior finishes must comply with Chapter 42 of the USC".
Specify "Class Ill flame spread rating (minimum) for B-2."
6. Note on plan that suspended ceilings shall comply with USC Tables 47-A and
23-P. (All work without permit is treated as new).
7. Specify the use of the mezzanine floor, if storage the occupant load is 8, if office
it will be 25.
8. Provide original calculations showing the mezzanine was designed as storage.
Also post a sign indi_cating the maximum live load allowed.
9. Two exits are required from the mezzanine if its occupant load of is over 10.
10. Unless the mezzanine-is used for storage, its occupants may not exit through the
warehouse. They must exit directly exit to the exterior through a continuous
corridor or equal.
11. Exit signs are required whenever two exits are required. Show all required exit
sign locations. Section 3314 (a).
12. Note on the plans: "All exits are to be openable from inside without the use of a
key or special knowledge". In lieu of the above, in a Group B occupancy, you
may note "Provide a sign on or near the exit doors reading THIS DOOR TO
REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS". This signage is only
allowed at the main exit. Section 3304(c).
13. Cross reference all the wall details on sheet# 5 on plans, and delete all
irrelevant ones.

14. Dimension the stair footings on sheet# 6.
15. Identify all the expansion anchors embedment in plans (sheets 6 and 6-A). Also
note thejr ICBO approval #.
16. Provide complete energy documentation for all the conditioned spaces. Show

spaces. MECH-1, L TG-1, etc. need to be signed and imprinted on plans.

SCOPE: Specify all existing items (such as parking, walks, ramps, restrooms, etc.) are existing HC

• DOORS
1. Per section 3304(i.1 },regardless of the occupant load, there shall be a level floor or landing on each
side of the door. The floor or landing. shall not be more than 1// lower than the threshold of the
doorway. Note: An exception is permitted for exterior landings, which may slope up to 1// per foot
(io/o} in any direction, for surface drainage, per section 413.
2. Per section 3304(c.1}, all hand-activated door opening hardware shall meet the following
requirements:
a} Shall be centered between·30" and 44" above the floor.

b) Latching and locking doors that are in a path of travel shall be operated with a single effort
by lever type hardware, panic bars, push-pull activating bars or other hardware designed to
provide passage without the ability to grasp the opening hardware .

• 3. The width of the level area, on the side to which a door (or gate) swings, shall be as follows per
section 3304(i.1 ): Dimension on plans.
a) Extend 18" past the strike edge of the door for interior conditions.
b) *Extend 12" past the strike edge on the push side if door has latch and closer.
4. *Per section 3304(i.1)2.B, the level area at floors or landings shall have a length at least 60" in the
direction of door swing and at least 48" (or 44" if doors don't have latches or closers) in the direction
opposite the door swing. This is violated on sheet# 2.
• STAIRWAYS AND HANDRAILS (Revise details on 6-A)
5. Handrails are required on §gQQ side of stairs, per section 3306(i.1 )1.
6. *Handrails shall be located 34" to 38" above the nosing of the treads.
7. Handrails shall extend a minimum of 12" beyond the top nosing and 12" plus the tread width beyond
the bottom nosing.
8. *The handgrip portion of handrails shall not be less than 11/4" nor more than 11/2" in cross sectional
dimension or the shape shall provide an equivalent gripping surface. The handgrip portion shall have
a smooth surface with no sharp corners.
9. *Handrails shall be designed to provide a grasping surface to avoid the person from falling. The
spacing of brackets shall not exceed 8 feet and be such that the attachment is capable of
withstanding a load of at least 200 pounds applied in any direction at any point on the rail.
10. The upper approach and the lower tread of each stair shall be marked by a strip of clearly
contrasting color at least 2" wide and placed parallel to and not more than 1" from the nose of the
step or landing. The strip shall be as slip resistant as the other treads of the stair. For exterior stairs,
the upper approach and all treads shall be marked.
11: *Tread surfaces shall be slip resistc:int and smooth, rounded or chamfered exposed edges and no
abrupt edges at the nosing. Nosing shall not project more than 1 \" past the face of the riser above.
Risers shall be solid ( open risers are not permitted).
12. *Per section 3306(i.1)2F, handrails projecting from a wall shall have a space of 11/2" between the
wall and the rail. Handrails may be located in a recess· maximum 3" deep extending at least 18"
above the top of the rail. Wall surfaces, adjacent to handrails, shall be free of sharp or abrasive
elements, (i.e., no stucco) per Sec. 3306(i.1)2.F.

FEES 2160 LAS PALMAS TENANT IMPROVEMENT
The attached copies of the building permit and sewer permit show the various fees associated
with the project.
The sewer permit is based upon an.intensification of 1740 s.f. of new office space. Credit was
given for tn.e warehouse space which no longer exists. The building permit also has a number
of fees similarly assessed to the project.
The building permit, plan ,check fees, and strong motion fees relate to the size of the tenant
improvement. No "double fee" was assessed to the existing "bootleg" work. The water impact
fee was calculated as the sewer fee was. The License tax, which is essentially an impact fee was
charged only on the new, improved area. No charge was assessed for the additional warehouse
mezzanine.' The traffic and bridge fees were charged only on the improved office areas, and
credit was given for the warehouse area used.
The plumbing, mechanical, and electrical fees were charged on the basis of proposed fixtures
or work.

Model 542G is our latest generation of packaged heat
pumps for residential and commercial applications.
These heat pumps are the resu,lt of our firm commitment
to the design and development of the finest heat pumps
modern tephnolor,v can offer. Our commitment is backed
by our advanced engineering, testl11g, and research labo-
ratories; and our wealth of practical experience.
Model 542G is designed in one basic cabinet size, fea-
tures a round side-by-side duct configuration on sizes 018
thru 048. Rectangular duct configuration is available on
060 size only. Voltage options meet most residential and
commercial requirements. Models install easily on a roof-
top or a ground-level pad.
FEATURES
FACTORY-ASSEMBLED PACKAGE is a compact, fully
self-contained, all-electric, combination heating/cooling
unit that is prewired, prepiped, and precharged' for mini-
mum installation expense.
RUGGED, EFFICIENT, COMPRESSORS are specifically
designed for heat pump duty and high energy efficiency
during heating and cooling operation. Each compressor is
HP-83
hermetically sealed against contamination to help pro-
mote longer life and dependable operation; and vibration
isolated to provide quiet operation. During heating opera-
tion, these reliable compressors are designed for continu-
ous operation down to extremely cold outdoor tempera-
tures. All compressors have internal high-pressure and
overcurrent protection.
INDOOR BLOWER MOTORS have been carefully selected
to minimize energy consumption and to withstand the
heavy-duty, year-round, operation required by heat
pumps. These motors are designed to meet the require-
ments of a wide variety of residential and commercial
applications.
DIRECT-DRIVE, PSC, OUTDOOR FAN MOTORS have been
selected to help reduce energy consumption. Units are
designed for cooling operation down to 55°F.
BUil T-IN RELIABILITY COMPONENTS Include a suction-
tube accumulator that keeps liquid refrigerant from reach-
ing the compressor, a low-pressure switch that stops the
compressor if the refrigerant pressure drops to an unsafe
operating level, a crankcase heater to. keep the compres-
sor oil warm and free of refrigerant for maximum lubricity,
compressor quick-start components on single-phase
units to improve starting characteristics, and a unique
metering device to eliminate potential serviceability
requirements of check valves and expansion devices.
UNIT DESIGN-Indoor and outdoor coils are computer-
designed for optimum heat transfer. Vertical outdoor fan
discharge carries sound and air up and away. The high-
voltage inlet panel is designed to accommodate a field-
installed electrical disconnect. A low-voltage terminal
block simplifies thermostat connections. Refrigerant
service connections make checking operating pressures
easier.
TIME/TEMPERATURE DEFROST system is used to
increase heating cycle efficiency. This type of defrost
system has proven to be very reliable. The time/tempera-
ture control "looks" for coil icing conditions only at pre-
set time intervals, starts the defrost cycle only if the
defrost thermostat senses icing conditions, and automat-
ically ends the defrost cycle when the coil has warmed
sufficiently to melt the ice.
WEATHERIZED CABINETS are constructed of heavy-duty,
phosphated, zinc-coated steel; and finished with
corrosion-resistant, baked enamel. Interior surfaces of
the blower section are insulated to help keep the condi-
tioned air from being affected by the outdoor ambient
temperature.
ACCESSORIES
SUPPLEMENTAL ELECTRIC HEATERS that mount inside
the heat pump blower compartment are available in a vari-
ety of KW and voltage options.
ADDITIONAL ACCESSORIES & OPTIONS are available to
meet the particular requirements of a variety of
applications.
