provide plans complying with Chapter 38 as adopted by the

III. Division 5 & 6 - HVAC System
of mechanical plans showing:

Location, manufacturer., model number and capacity of the HVAC system
components as well as thermostat locations.
For each HVAC, indicate on the plans its EER, COP, and/or com-
bustion efficioêncy.
Specify economizers using up to 1001 outdoor air when the cooling
fan system is serving zones or aggregate of zones having greater
than 134,000 btu/hr cooling capacity or more than 5,000 cfrn.
(dual-duct and multizone systems are exempted.

T20-1503. Temperature Control. (
(l) All equipment shall be started or stopped from a time clock.
A 6-hour by-pass switch shall allow operation of any AC uni.t
from normal scheduled hours. -
(2) All thermostats shall be of the automatic changeover type to
sequence heating or cooling. Set point range shall be up to 10°F
. between full heating and cooling. Adjustable temperature
differential shall be 1½oF. ..
(3), All thermosta'control limits shall be from 550F to 850F.
(4) Control shall have the capabilityof terminating all heating
at a temperature no more than 700F andof terminating all
cooling at a temperature not less than 780F.
(5). At least,one automatic space temperaturecontrol device
shall be provided for:. (a) each .zone.(not more than one
floor of building shall be included in a zone), and (b)
each separate HVAC system.
T20-1505. Mechanical and Gravity Ventilation. Each mechanical
or gravity system or unit (supply and/or exhaust) shall be
equipped with a means of providing air volume reduction and/or
shut-off when ventilation is not required. On mechanical vent-
ilation systems, automatic dampers interlocked and closed on
fan shutdown shall be provided. On gravity ventilating systems,,
either automatic or readily.accessible manually operated dampers
in all ening's:to the outside other than combustion air open-
ings shall be provided. -

T20-1509. Duct Construction. All duct work shall be constructed,
erected, and tested in accordance with the most restrictive of
local regulations, procedures detailed in the ASHRAE Handbook of
Fundamentals or the applicable standards adopted by the Sheet
Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association.
T20-1517. Maintenance. Equipment which requires preventive
maintenance for efficient operation shall be furnished with
complete necessary maintenance information. Required routing
maintenance actions shall be clearly stated and incorporated on
'; an accessible label, which may belimited to -identifying, by
title and/or publication number, the operation and maintenance
manual for that par ticular model and type of product.
At least one copy of this information shall be furnished by the
manufacturer for the original owner. upon request.
