Please make all corrections on the original tracings, as requested in the correction
list. Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans
for residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be
submitted in one of two ways:
1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760)
602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad
Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
2. Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation,
9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468.
Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be

EsGil Corporation is complete.
6. Please revise the plans to show the mandatory measures required for the
alteration to the lighting system. The relocated lighting fixtures and new lighting
controls must comply with lighting control requirements of Sections 119, 130,
131 and 134 of the Energy Standards. The lighting plans are incorrect the two
new work rooms, new video conference and new storage room require
separate lighting controls and complete building shut-offs . These controls
are not show on the lighting plans or in the L TG documents. Please
correct.
8. Please provide complete electrical plans. Please clarify the plans two new
work rooms and a video conference room with only one existing receptacle
_and no new receptacles?
12. Show that the space between two consecutive door openings in a vestibule, which
serves spaces other than a required. exit stairway: The plans still show the space
between the doors at the vestibule to be less than 48", please correct.
a) Provide ~48" clear space from any door opening into the vestibule when
door is open 90°, per Section 1133B.2.4.4.

Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, Uniform Mechanical Code, National Electrical Code and state
laws regulating energy conservation, noise attenuation and access for the disabled. This plan

patterns (by using arrows), accumulated occupant loads and required exit-widths.

2. Each door in a means of egress from an occupancy of Group A shall not be
provided with a latch or lock unless it is panic hardware. Section 1008.1.10.
3. All doors and gates, within the exit path to a public way from an occupancy of
Group A shall not be provided with latches or iocks unless they are equipped
with panic hardware. Sections 1008.1.10 and 1002 .
. 4. When additional doors are provided for egress purposes, they also shall conform
to the requirements of Section 1008 (width, swing, hardware, etc.). Section
1008.1.
5. Please provide notes on the plans to show the suspended ceilings in Seismic
Design Categories D,_E & F comply with ASCE 7-05 Section 13.5.6.2.1 as
follows:
a) All ceilings shall use a Heavy Duty T-bar grid system.
b) The width of the perimeter supporting closure angle shall be not less than
2 inches.
c) In each orthogonal horizontal direction, one end of the ceiling grid shall be
attached to the closure angle. . . ·
d) The other end in each horizontal direction shall have a ¾" clearance from
the wall and shall rest upon and be free to slide on a closure angle or a
listed assembly.
