Dear Sir:
As you are aware, tiie column anclior bolts at the northeast corner of the
building were initially installed in the wrong position. We instructed
the contractor to install new bolts as follows: Drill li inch holes into
the foundation and set 12 inch long bolts in a non-shrink grout such as
Por-rok or Embeco, or a grouting epoxy, such as Sika. (The bolts were
then welded to the hairpin bar.)
We approved this condition prior to placement of the concrete slab.

Gentlemen:
Flight International is erecting an additional aircraft
storage hangar on it'^s leasehold facility at Palomar
Airport. The only purpose for this 16,00 sq. ft. hangar
is to provide long term storage for aircraft. No maint-
enance is to be performed on aircraft while parked in
this hangar.
If at any time in the future, the purpose for which the
hangar was built were to change, an additional request
will be made to the Building Department, City of
Carlsbad to upgrade the facilities.

FLIGHT IMERNATIONAL HANGER, 2208 PAM-IAR AIRPORT ROAD
A Certificate of Occupancy Pennit will not be issued mtil the conditions listed
in your letter of June 6, 1984, have been ccnpleted. These oonditions were to
be catipleted by July 15, 1984, with a 10-day extension for landscaping and parking.
In conjunction with the above conditions, the following were required and must be
oorpleted before a Certificate of Occupancy is issued:
1. An as-built plan for the mansard showing carplete structural design and
connections. (Uie mansard was not coipleted as of December 26, 1984, and
metal shingles are being blown off.)
2. A special inspector is required during all bolt installations and tightening
operations. The inspector shall verify in a report to the City of Carlsbad's
Building Department. (Nb report to date.)
3. Exit doors require a flat, level floor or landing on each side of a door.
Ihe floor or landing shall not be more than J^-inch lower than the threshold
of the doorway. T'lhen the doors open over landings, the landing shall have a
length of not less than 5 feet. Hand rails are recjuired for steps and guard
rails are required for landings. (Ndt oortpleted to this date.)
Anple tirae has been allowed for corpletion of the hangar as per agreements and
safety requirements.
The tempDrary occnjpancy was allowed because of the assurance of cxurpletions
stated in yoin: letter of June 6, 1984, and it was signed by Mr. Bill Frank of
Flight Intemational.
I request that you. have Flight Intemational vacate the hangar within 30 days
unless oorplete coipliance has been met and a Certificate of Occupancy issued.

Flight International is a lessee on Palomar Airport. For the past several
months they have been constructing a metal hangar structure on the lease
premises at 2208 Palomar Airport Road. Plans and specs were approved by
County on October 21, 1983. In addition to the basic building, the plans
approved by County require:
1. A mansard roof line of similar construction to the existing structures.
2. Landscaping.
3. Additional auto parking for customers and employees.
A contract has been let for the mansard roof. It is being manufactured offsite
and will be completely erected on or before July 15, 1984. The required
landscaping and auto parking will follow wiithin 10 days.
Occupancy of the building during the final three phases of construction is
therefore, approved subject to consent by the city of Carlsbad.
