Per your request the following summarizes the planned landscape treatment to the
proposed soundwall along Carlsbad Village Drive
1 The approved landscape plans anticipated a masonry wall ranging in height from 5' to
5 1/2' with a minimum 20 inch parkway planting strip between the back of sidewalk and
wall The wall should be constructed with colored split-faced block, consistent in color
and texture with the other walls throughout the project
2 Vines will be trained to grow on the south side of the wall and groundcover will be
planted in the parkway Creeping Fig, (Ficus) vines will be planted approximately twenty
feet, (20') on center along the wall The groundcover will be the same mix of Gazania
and White Trailing Iceplant which has been planted throughout the project
3 This narrow parkway planting area will be irrigated with pop-up strip spray heads
(connected to the HOA irrigation system)
4 The wall and landscaping south of the wall (within the parkway), will be maintained by
the HOA This information and area calculation was forwarded to the HOA consultant for
budget consideration
