Doors shall be gasketed to provide a smoke and draft seal where the door meets the stop on sides and top. Section. _3305(h). Section 3305(g)l. S-2. Where exit signs are required by Section 3314(a), approved and listed internally, externally or self-illuminated low-level exit signs complying with Section 3314 shall be required. The bottom of the sign shall be not less than 6 inches nor more than 8 inches above the floor level. For exit way doors, the sign shall be on the door with the closest edge of the sign with 4 inches of the door frame or adjacent to the door. One such facility shall comply when provided for the public, clients or employees. 2-511.l(a) b. Shower compartment shall be 4211 wide, 48" deep, with a 3611 wide entrance. 2-511.l(a) c. Show on the plans that the handicapped bathing facilities shall conform to requirements of Sec. 2-5lla-9, 5-1505 and 5-1506, i.e., folding seat, flexible shower hose, etc. GEN:EmL REQUIREXERIS 21. DRINKING FOUNTAIN a. Drinking fountains shall be within alcoves. The alcove shall be not less than 3211 wide by 1811 deep. 2-511.l(c) b. When the enforcing agency determines that it would create an unreasonable hardship to locate the water fountain in an alcove, the water fountain may project into the path of travel, and the path of travel shall be.identifiable to the blind as follows: (1.) The surface of the path of travel at the water fountain shall be textured so that it is clearly identifiable by a blind person using a cane. The minimum textured area shall extend from the wall supporting the water fountain to 1 foot beyond the front edge of the water fountain and shall extend 1 foot beyond each side of the water fountain, or (2.) Wing walls shall be provided on each side of the water fountain. The wing walls shall project out from the supporting wall at least as far as the water fountain to within 6 inches of the surface of the path of travel. Also, there shall be a. minimum of 32 inches clear between th~ wing walls. c. Note on the plans that drinking foi,mtain shall conform to requirements of Sec. 2-51lc and 5-1507. 22.
