On October 26, 1988 the Fire Department informed the Building Department
that the subject suite was bei:ng imp.roved without permits or plans.
, Inspector Ke1ley left~ notice advi~ing you to-submit plans and obtain
permits for the work in progress.
Van Smith telephoned to s·ay that plans had been completed and would be
submitted immediately.
On November 15, we checked the site and-found the work substantially
completed but unoccupied. Sever~l phone calls to your office resulted
in more. assurance from you that plans were forthcoming.
We do not wish to let this matter drift along4 Please demolish the
work and clean the premises or submit plans for plan check before
January 18, 1988. On January 19, if you have taken no action, this

This letter is to confirm the inspection conducted on February 2, 1989
at 2231 Rutherford Road, Suite 102, Carlsbad.
Please be advised that the following violations exist within the
i·mprovements completed without ·inspection during the construction
proces.s:
I. The wiring method, in general, violates Carlsbad's
adopted electric code 18.12.251 Article 333-6(b)
amended, which prohibits the use of A. C. cable .in
commercial occupancies~
2. Suite 102 must have ready access to the overcurrent
disconnects by means of locating the subpanel
within Suite 102.
3. An exit sign is required at the exit door from th~
unit.
This list does not necessarily constitute a complete list, and this
department reserves the right to amend or add to it upon discovery
of additional problems exposed during future inspections. Please
contact this office for a rough electric inspection when the re-wire
is roughed in and accessible.
