B -1/08) NOTE: THIS IS A SUGGESTED INSTALLATION ONLY. CONSULT APPROPRIATE SOIL. FOUNDATION AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS FOR SPECIFIC TURNTABLE INSTALLATIONS AND LOCAL CODE REQUIREMENTS. A. Preliminary Determlnatlons 1. Based on the desired use of the 1umtable, choose the installation site. 2. Ensure that there will be no obstructions within 5 feet of the turntable edge. In other words, a clear space of 25 feet in diameter should be required for a 15' turntable. 3. Detennine what the slope of the turntable will be at the chosen site. If the slope exceeds 1.25 deg. (approx. 4" rise in 15'), contact CarSpinUSA. 4. Make a general determination of drainage relative to the turntable site. This will be important when the pit is being constructed regarding the choice of a natural drainaae tube or a tube for running a pump discharge hose. See drawing cross section C-C. 5. Detennine the distance from the turntable site to the most logical location for the control box. A line-of-sight must be malntalned for proper operation of the remote control. 6. In choosing a site for the turntable, consider that the soil under the pit floor must uHimately be either undisturbed grade or compacted fill suitable for foundation. See note on drawing section C-C. B. Pit Excavation 1. Cut an approximate 16' diameter hole (or other desired shape) through the existing driveway, floorer site. 2. Consult with soil and foundation engineers as necessary to get the proper inspection and testing to verify that the grade or soil Is suitable for foundation bearing as noted in the install drawing. lf not, remedy per thelr recommendations. 3. Note that the flat bottom of the pit should be level and at least 24" below (depending upon the depth of the bottom pour-typically a 4" slab) the midpoint of the final turntable elevation. See section A-A on the installation drawing. C. Bottom Pour 1. Pour·bottom footings If required and slab (In any form desired) reinforced with requisite wire mesh or rebar (see section A-A). 2. Place vertical rebar hooks to assist in placing of perimeter wall (see step E). Consider placing additional vertical rebar or concrete nails to assist in supporting base of bender boards (see step E). 6. Cover as necessary and allow the concrete to cure overnight or longer if appropriate. 7. Remove turntable plattersection{s) as necessary to remove bender boards and blocks. 8. Clean gaps as required. F. Electrfcal Connections 1. Make electrical connectlons. 2. Place optional perimeter lighting as necessary. 3. Place optional drain heat tape as necessary.
