Department, Fire Department or other departments. Clearance from those departments may be
required prior to the issuance of a building permit.
Code sections cited are based on the 1994-UBC.
The following items listed need clarification, modification or change, All items must be satisfied
before the plans will be in conformance with the cited codes and regulations. Per Sec. 106.4.3,
1994 Uniform Building Code, the approval of the plans does not permit the violation of any
state, county or city law.
To speed UP the recheck process, please note on this list (or a copy) where each

I. Please make all corrections on the original tracings, as requested in the correction
list.
Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans for
residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be submitted
in one of two ways:
1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City
of Carlsbad Building Department, 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92009,
(61 9) 438-1 161. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad
Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
Corporation, 9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (619) 560-
1468. Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City
of Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be
reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by
EsGil Corporation is complete.
2. Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil
2. Please have the Engineer stamp seal and sign each sheet of the calculations
and attach these to the site plan. The calculations and design are part of the plan
set.
3. The permit describes the installation of windscreen on the chainlink fencing,
however the calculations do not consider the windscreen in the design calculations
and indeed has a note that windscreen is not to be installed on the detail of the
fence post footing design. Please clarify provide revise calculations if applicable.
4. Provide the correct address on the plans. Section 106.3.3.
5. Please removehevise any conflicting information with the Engineer's design from
the standard drawing form M-I 7 i.e. the size and depth of the footing and the line
post size.
6. On sheet 3/3 of the Lighting calculations please show the depth of the pole
embedment and steel/earth clearance.
To speed up the review process, note on this list (or a copy) where each correction
item has been addressed, i.e., plan sheet, note or detail number, calculation page,
etc.

Housing - All aluminum, heavy duty, continuous welded,
waterproof, UL listed "for wet locations." Cannot rust. A heavy
galvanized steel plate is bolted inside fixture at the mounting arm
joint for extra strength to withstand heavy winds.' Aluminum
partitions are installed between transformer, bulb and arm for
cooler operation of these components. This construction is
stronger than die-cast aluminum.
Optical Chamber -A front throw cut-off reflector is specially
designed for tennis lighting. Consists of a 3-piece scoop-type
reflector, die-formed from a maniage of diamond-embossed
aluminum and smooth coilzak. This synergistic design is a much
more effective method of diffusing light eventy, while minimizing
glare, than any to date. They produce a square pattern of light.
tempered, high impact heat-resistant glass. The frame and lens
are moisture sealed by 2 closed cell neoprene gaskets. The lens
frame is one-piece die formed 16 gauge aluminum. A is secured
by 2 quarter turn captive screws for easy maintenance. The lens
frame opens on a full-length heavy duty aluminum piano hinge.

Electrical Components - AII compnents are of the highest
quality obtainable and UL listed. "quick service power door"
available upon request. All ballasts are CWA high power factor
regulating auto-transformers, starting at -20°F. They are available
in metal halide, mercury vapor and high pressure sodium vapor.
All wattages and voltages are available.
Fixture Mounting Arm -A one-piece rectangular steel tube
for strength with slipfitter welded to it to fit any pole size.
Galvanized 1/2' setbolts hold it in place. Cap is furnished with it
to keep out moisture. Standard length 4', other lengths available,
consult factory.
Socket - Is glazed porcelain with silver coated 600 V
contacts, mogul base, spring loaded.
Finish - Is powder coat and baked. Standard colors are dark
bronze, black, silver white, green and brown. Custom colors to
your specs, are available, consult factory.
All fixtures are Underwriters Lab approved for wet locations, as a
complete unit.
All fixtures are factory-tested before shipment.
