Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation, 9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments. NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil Corporation is complete. 6. All new residential buildings, including additions, require a soils report. a) Please provide a copy of the soils report. i) From the soils report provided the following corrections are applicable: a) Provide an update letter for this report or provide an updated report. b) Provide a letter from the soils engineer confirming that the foundation plan, grading plan and specifications have been reviewed and that it has been determined that the recommendations in the soils report are properly incorporated into the construction documents (required by the soil report -page ten). 9. Prior to placing fill, the exposed subg:rade soil.s were scarified to a depth of 6 to 8-inc:hes, brought to near optinnml m:,isture conditions and CClll)a.Cted. FILL~ Fill soils were placed in about 6 to 8-inch lifts, brought to approximate optimum I1Disture content and coorpacted to a miniillQm of 90 percent a; the naximum density as detemined by AS'IM: D 1557-78 (Five-I.ayer Method). Rsoedial grading was perfomed to mitigate the expansion potentials of the on-site soils: The upper 24-inches of soils were placed approximately 5 percent above opt.imum m::,isture content. The e:;iu.iprent used for corrpaction consisted of a steel-wheel roller, and other heavy earth 110ving equipnent. Grading operations ~e started and conp],eted to rough grade during the periods covered by this report (July 7 through ~t 8, 1984).
