Please make all corrections on the original tracings, as requested in the correction
list. Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans
for residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be
submitted in one of two ways:
1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760)
602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad
Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
2. Bring two corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation,
9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468.
Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Deparl;ments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be
reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by
EsGil Corporation is complete.
These corrections are in response to items not fully addressed or as the
result of information provided, the text in bold underlined print indicates
the unresolved issue.
1. Provide a section view of the new soffits. Show:
a) Type, size and spacing of studs. Indicate gauge for metal studs. Specify
manufacturer and approval number or indicate "to be ICC approved".
b) Method of attaching top to the structure and lateral bracing. The detail
referenced is not consistent with the reflected ceiling plan. Please
provide an accurate section. The soffit is cantilevered from the wall.
The detail referenced is a hard-lid ceiling that should be supported at
both ends by walls. How will the cantilevered soffit be support at the
end that is not attached to the wall? The wires spaced at 4' on center
will not provide the required support and no lateral bracing is shown.
c) Show height of the sofflt from floor, soffit to roof framing or floor framing.
3. If showers are proposed, show or note compliance with the following requirements,
per Section 118-608:
a) Size and Clearance. Accessible showers shall comply with one of the
following: Ple_ase correct the plans and show the required dimensions
on the plans.
i) Alternate roll-in shower 60 inches minimum in width between the wall
surfaces and 36 inches in depth with an entrance opening width of
36 inches minimum. Shower compartment size and clear floor space
shall comply with Figure 118-608.2.3. Not correct on the plans.
This dimension is an absolute 36" not minimum or maximum.
