Present owner submitted plans to make addition legal. Dick Esgate checked the plans, and everything is all right. They are minimal plans and he would feel a lot better if you could inspect this just to make sure there is no major problem. You don't have to worry about light and vent or energy, just any major structural problem you might see. Hope this is OK with you. Otherwise we would have to ask this new owner to shape up the plans, show us a framing detail, supply energy calcs, etc. Carter 2295 Cameo Road Carlsbad, CA 92008 August 7, 1990 City of Carlsbad Building Department Michael Harrington Code Enforcement Officer 2075 Las Palmas Drive Carlsbad, CA 92009 RE: APN 167-080-40 Per your request, attached please find 2 sets of plans (plan check ftCB 891216) for our existing room addition. As we discussed, the addition was complete when we purchased the property. Because the addition was preexisting, certain detailed specifications such as location of nailing is not available to us. However, before we purchased the property, we had the property inspected by Ray Begin of RJB Inspection Service (Report #R9228) who informed us that the building was in good shape. He even commented on how well the addition was built with all double pained "Pella" windows. We would welcome you to come and physically inspect the property. We are convinced that it will meet the necessary code requirements. We will be out of town until August 23, 1990 and will be looking forward to hearing from you after that time.
