For our review, we have utilized the following documents: o Post-Tensioned Foundation Plans for La Costa Valley Terrace, prepared by Arnet Engineering, dated April 26, 1990. o Soil Investigation and Geolooc Reconnaissance, Lots 240 and 241, La Costa Valley, Unit 5, Carlsbad, Califomia, prepared by Geocon Incor- porated, dated January 11, 1985. o Soils Investigation Update Letter, Lots 240 and 241, La Costa Valley Unit 5, La Costa Valley Terrace, Altisma and Caringa Way, Carlsbad, Califomia, prepared by Geocon Incorporated, dated May 5, 1989. o Consultation, Lots 240 and 241, La Costa Valley, Unit 5, La Costa Valley Terrace, Carlsbad, Califomia, prepared by Geocon Incorporated, dated June 14, 1989. o Foundation Plan Review, La Costa Valley Terrace, Carlsbad, Califomia, prepared by Geocon Incorporated, dated April 5, 1990. Based on our review, we conclude that the foundation plans are in substantial conformance with our previous recommendations with the exception of the following item: o All exterior footing details should be revised to indicate either a minimum depth of 18 or 24 inches measured from lowest adjacent grade for medium or highly expansive soils, respectively, based on laboratory expansion tests results for the building pads. It is our understanding that the foundation post-tensioning design has been performed utilizing the geotechnical recommendations contained within the referenced reports. 6960 Flanders Drive San Diego, CA 92121-2974 619 558-6900 FAX 619 558-6159 Ffle No. D-3370-204 May 18, 1990 If you have any questions, or if we may be of further service, please contact the undersigned at your convenience.
