' 4.0 PROCEDURES 4.1 Visual and Mechanical Inspection 4.1.1 Inspected components for' physical damage and installation in compliance with manufacturer's instructions. 4.1.2 Determined ground fault sensor was located properly around appropriate conductors. o Zero sequence and residual sensing requires all phases and the neutral to be encircled by the sensor. 4.1.3 Inspected main bonding jumper to assure: o Proper size o Termination on source side of neutral disconnect link. 4.1.4 Inspected grounding electrode conductor to assure: o Proper size o Correct switchboard termination 4.1.6 Visually inspected switchboard neutral bus downstream of neutral disconnect link to verify absence of ground connections. 4.2 Electrical Tests 4.2.1 Ground fault system performance including correct response of the circuit interrupting device was confirmed by primary ground sensor current injection. o Relay pickup current was measured. o Relay time delay was measured at two values above pickup. 4.2.4 Functionally checked operation of ground fault indicator for correct indication of ground fault trip. 4.2.5 Verified proper sensor polarity on phase and neutral sensors for residual systems. ,. 4.2.6 Measured system neutral insulation resistance downstream of neutral disconnect link to verify absence of grounds. 4.3 Test Results Evaluation 4.3.1 System neutral insulation resistance should be above 100 ohms and preferably 1 megohm or greater. 4.3.2 The maximum pickup setting of the ground fault protection shall be 1200 amperes and the maximu~. time delay shall be one second for ground fault currents equal to or gr~ater than 3000 amperes (NEC 230- 95). . 4.3.3 The relay pickup current should be within ten percent of the manufacturer's calibration matks or fixed setting. 4.3.4 Relay timing should be in accordance with the manufacturer's published time-current characteristic curves. 5.0 RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS 5. I The ground fault relay system was found correctly installed and operating properly. 5.2 The manufacturer's calibration marks on the relay nameplate face for time delay do not agree with the tested values. For example, the time delay value indicated on the relay nameplate is 0.1 sec. whereas the test value is 0.11 -0.19 sec. Although the system operation is acceptable, if setting changes are made, it is recommended-that.the system be field calibrated again .. ' The 693C Outdoor Sections of Split-System Heat Pumps are de- signed for quiet, reliable heating during the winter and cooling during the summer. These heat pump systems provide economi- cal operation through energy conservation. They recover heat for indoor comfort from outdoor air during the heating season and, by automatically reversing the refrigerant cycle, remove indoor heat and excess humidity during the cooling season. All models are listed with UL, CSA, ARI, and CEC. FEATURES ELECTRICAL RANGE-All units are offered in single-phase 208/ -230 volts; with 048 and 060 models available in 208/230 volt, 3 . phase i:ind 460 volt, 3 phase. COMPRESSOR-This unit features the Copeland® scroll com- pressor. This compressor is significantly more efficient than con- ventional compressors, especially in the heating mode at low- ambient temperatures. Due to the simple design, it offers im- proved reliability. Each compressor is mounted on rubber iso- lators for additional sound reduction. The scroll compressor does not require a crankcase heater (except in 3 phas 3 application) and will start under most system loads, thus elimin:-:ting the need for start assistance components. Continuous ope~,1tion is approved :, ~: ,"' \;, down to -30 degrees F (-34.4 degrees C) in the heating mode and down to 55 degrees F (12.8 degrees C) in the cooling mode. (See heating and cooling performance tables.) This scroll com- pressor is covered with a standard 5-year limited warranty. BUILT-IN-RELIABILITY COMPONENTS-Includes a suction tube accumulator that keeps liquid refrigerant from reaching the compressor; a discharge temperature limit switch (018-042 sizes) to protect the scroll compressor from excessive internal discharge temperatures under extreme operating conditions, i.e. loss of charge, failure of evaporator fan; built-in compressor inter- nal pressure equalization (048, 060 sizes) to limit excessive pres- sure build-up, a high-pressure switch for high-pressure protection; and a defrost board for time/temperature defrost function and 5-minute compressor time delay. DEFROST CONTROL BOARD-Incorporates a built-in 5-minute compressor fan-delay relay, defrost relay, defrost timer, and low- voltage wire leads. The defrost control is a time/temperature initi- ation/termination control which includes three field-selectable time periods of 30, 50, and 90 minutes. WEATHER-PROTECTIVE CABINET -Steel is protected with a heavy coating commonly called "galvanizing," then coated with a layer of zinc phosphate to which a coat of modified polyester powder coating is applied and baked-on. This provides each unit with a hard, smooth finish that will last for many years. All screws on cabinet exterior are coated for a long-lasting, rust- resistant, quality appearance. UNIT DESIGN-All units are equipped with totally enclosed fan motors for greater reliability under rain and snow conditions. The large, wraparound coil uses copper tube and enhanced aluminum fin and is designed for optimum heat transfer during heating and cooling. The vertical air discharge carries the sound and air up and away from adjacent patio areas and foliage. Sufficient space is provided between rows of composite coils so they can be cleaned with a common garden hose. EXTERNAL SERVICE VALVES-Both service valves are brass, front seating type with sweat connections. Each valve has a ser- vice port for ease of checking operating refrigerant pressures. Valves are externally located so refrigerant tube connections can be made quickly and easily. A third service port is located on the service panel for ease of checking operating suction pressure in the heating mode.
