Important Notice Regarding the 2007 CBC
If you are an architect, engineer, designer or contractor that performs work within the State of
California, please be advised that a new building code will take effect on January 1, 2008 The
new building code is based on the 2006 International Building Code (IBC) and it is significantly
different than the Uniform Building Code (UBC)
All plan review applications submitted after December 31. 2007 will be required to comply with
the new code
The 2007 CBC is currently available for purchase directly from the International Code Council,
at www iccsafe org
1 Please make all corrections, as requested in the correction list Submit three new
complete sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans for residential
projects) For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be submitted in one of two ways
1 Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave , Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760) 602-2700
The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad Planning, Engineering
and Fire Departments
2 Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation, 9320
Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468 Deliver all
remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building
Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments
NOTE Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be reviewed by
the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil Corporation is
complete
2 UBC Section 1072 requires the Building Official to determine the total value of all
construction work proposed under this permit The value shall include all finish work,
painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, elevator, fire
extinguishing systems and any other permanent equipment Please provide the
designer's or contractor's construction cost estimate of all work proposed
3 Provide the names, addresses and telephone numbers of the owner and the responsible
design professionals on the Title Sheet Sec 10633
4 All sheets of the plans and the first sheet of the calculations are required to be signed by
the California licensed architect or engineer responsible for the plan preparation Please
include the California license number, seal, date of license expiration and the date the
plans are signed Business and Professions Code
5 Provide a statement on the Title Sheet of the plans stating that this project shall comply
with the 2001 editions of the California Building which adopt the 1997 UBC
6 Clearly dimension building setbacks from property lines, street centerlmes, and from all
adjacent buildings and structures on the site plan

7 Provide complete structural details on the plans with cross referencing as needed to
show the structural framing will comply with the design calculations and building code
requirements Section 106 3 3 (How the aluminum side beam connects together? How
the columns connect to the beam'? How the columns connect to the slab?)

resist the vertical and wind load (It appears to new slab was provided Thickness and
