Please make all corrections on the original tracings, as requested in the correction
list. Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans
for residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be
submitted in one of two ways:
1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Buildin~~ Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760)
602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad
Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
2. Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation,
9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468.
Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Build in!~ Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be
reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by
EsGil Corporation is complete.
These corrections are in response to items not fully addressed or as the
result of information provided, the text in bold underlined print indicates
the unresolved issue.
1. Each sheet of the plans must be signed by the person responsible for their
preparation, even though there are no structural changes. Business and
Professions Code. All sheets of the plans are still not signed. The Civil,
Structural, Mechanical and Food service plans are not signed.
4. Please provide the UL listing and manufacturer's installation information for all
new equipment to be installed. Show all electrical requirements, plumbing
requirements, exhaust or mechanical requirements, operational weight,
anchorage and seismic restraints if required etc. Section 1 07.2. Per our phone
conversation if the plans show specific plumbing, electrical or mechanical
requirements tlhen the listing and installation requirements that show these
specific requimments must be provided. Sheet A3.2 shows 87 pieces of
equipment of which 40 have specific plumbing, electrical or mechanical
requirements. These requirements indicate a specific piece of equipment is
intended to be installed at this specific location therefore the listing and
installation of t:hat particular equipment must be provided to determine if
the plans are consistent with the manufacturer's installation requirement
and the appropriate codes. A call was placed to Mike Peterson for
verification.
6. Provide a section view of all new interior partitions. Show:
a) Method of attaching top plates to structure. No information provided.

details and show the glazing to be consistent with the ENV documents. No
information provided. I still did not receive any information showing the
door to comply with the ENV documents or installation information?
9. Provide complete kitchen hood plans, details, and calculations to show
compliance with UMC, Chapter 5, Part II The installation of the Ranges
require the installation of a Type I hood. Correct the plans.
• Show the required replacement air for each kitchen hood. Include an air
balance schedule. The exhaust and make-up air systems shall be connected
by an electrical interlocking switch. UMC 511.3 The make up fan does not

Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire
Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be

EsGil Corporation is complete.

Clearance diistances from the grease duct to the enclosure inside face is not

• A single story non-rated building does not require an enclosure (shaft)
protection for the grease duct installation above the ceiling. It does, however,
mandate minimum clearance distances from the duct to combustible, limited,
or non-combustible materials. Detail compliance with UMC 507.2 on the
plans. Note: The State Fire Marshall does not recognize this design.
• Detail the kitchen hood duct termination clearances as per UMC 51 0.8.
