FOUNDATION REQUIREMENTS
4. The foundation plan indicates the existing is a PT slab. The anchoring of the HD in the PT
slab and shear wall anchor bolts in the PT slab shown in detail D/4 must be design and
approved by licensed engineer. There was no response to this comment except calc's pg
17 and sheet 4. These have nothing to do with the correction. The engineer of record
must address the installation of new hardware in the existing PT slab and how the
installation will avoid the existing PT tendons and existing tendon anchors in the
existing footing.
5. Provide design calc's to show that the existing PT footing is adequate to support the new
concentrated posts loads supporting the BCI 3.5X14 beam supporting the new cantilevered
floor joists. This new beam is listed as floor beam 'B' in the calc's on page 5. The
support of this beam occurs at an exterior wall where a new spread footing will be
installed but the design did not address the support of this beam at an existing floor
beam a shown on sheet 5. The design did not address the existing foundation for the
support of the new and existing floor beam. Also, detail C15 is referenced at the new
floor beam 'B' shows the cantilevered floor joist supported by a wall. This is not correct.
The floor joists are supported by beam 'B'

Present California law mandates that construction comply with the 2013 edition of the California
Code of Regulations (Title 24), which adopts the following model codes: 2012 IRC, 2012 IBC,

The above regulations apply, regardless of the code editions adopted by ordinance.
The following items listed need clarification, modification or change. All items must be satisfied

8. Plans do not comply the conventional construction bracing outlined in the CRC. Provide
structural design caic's for both vertical and lateral support of the structure. The design calc's
must be stamped and signed by a licensed engineer.
9. Plans deviating from conventional wood frame construction shall have the structural portions
signed and sealed by the California state licensed engineer or architect responsible for their
preparation, along with structural calculations. (California Business and Professions Code).
10. 4. Where special inspection is required, the designer shall complete the city's "Special
Inspection Agreement". This must be completed prior to issuance of the permit.
. ELECTRICAL
11. Expand the receptacle notes found on sheet 3 to include the following specifications for
electrical devices installed in dwellings: CEC Article 210 & 406
Tamper resistant receptacles for all locations described in 210.52 (i.e., all receptacles in
a dwelling).
Arc-fault protection for all outlets (not just receptacles) located in rooms described in
NEC 210.8(A): Family, living, bedrooms, dining, halls, etc.
