SUBJECT: RETAINING WALL AT LOTS 21 AND 22 OF ALGA HILLS
As you requested we have reviewed the structural adequacy of the subject retaining walls.
Portions of the wall had been constructed prior to our field visit on January 29, 1990. Our
analysis is based on bar sizes, spacing, and dimensions obtained verbally from you and
the masons at our on-site meeting.
We have determined that the wall will be stable and not be overstressed in the as-built
condition. The void at the back of wall should be filled with a grout of minimum 1500 psi
strength. It would be acceptable to use a higher strength grout than specified. In this
condition, special inspection would not be required as only 1500 psi is necessary. In
addition, provisions should be made for drainage at the back of wall.
If construction is completed in accordance with the above recommendations, the wall
should provide adequate retaining capacity for this location and condition. Encloàed is
a copy of our calculations for this wall.
