The minimum vent area is 1/150 of attic area (or 1/300 of attic area if at least 50% of the required vent is at least 3 feet above eave vents or cornice vents). Show area required and area provided. Prior to pouring the cement for the foundation, I took many pictures as recommended. After talking to several people about my plans and receiving varied information, I decided to inquire at the Carlsbad City Planning Department as to the requirements for my extension and I discovered I was mislead.
