Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760) 602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad Planning, Engineering ancl Fire Departments. 2. Brjng one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation, 9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments. NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil Corporation is complete. These corrections are in response to items not fully addressed or as the result of information provided, the text in bold underlined print indicates the unresolved issue. 5. Provide fire sprinklers in Group A occupancies, as follows. Please note that the "Fire Area" is defined as the aggregate floor area bounded by fire walls, fire barriers, exterior walls or fire-resistance-rated horizontal assemblies of a building (i.e., the floor areas/occupant load limits listed below are for the whole floor or building unless smaller Fire Areas are created by fire-rated construction). Section 903.2.1. Please clarify the plans to show in the Deferred Submittal Block "NFPA 13 Wet Fire Sprinkler System shall be installed throughout the entire Building" Sheet A-40 of the plans show several adjacent tenant spaces to be A2 occupancies therefore the separation wall between the occupancies must be 4 hour. a) Group A-2, where any one of the following conditions e~ist: i) The fire area exceeds 5,000 square feet. ii) The fire area has an occupant load of 100 or more. iii) The fire area is located on a floor other than the level of exit discharge. iv) The structure exceeds 5000 square feet, contains more than one fire area containing a Group A occupancy and is separated into two ot more buildings by fire walls of less than four hour fire resistance rating without openings. 6. A 2-hour fire barrier separation is required between the A2 occupancy and the B/M occupancy. Table 508.4 (see exceptions) No construction d.etails were provided. See comment 7.
