I would recommend that the city reject this drawing and proposal. This is not an acceptable submittal for numerous reasons. It does
not accurately show existing plumbing waste/vent lines-it does not call for the removal of the illegaly installed Grease trap located
outside-it does not show the official "Mat Washing" area outside nor does it give any detail on location-size-type etc .. , it does not
show a plumbing detail for the vent that should be installed. for the new 2" line and i believe we also wanted them to build a spill
c;ontainment dike around a new storage location preferrably under the existing cover for the Grease Barell. On last inspection this
bare II was only feet away from a drain .leading directly to the storm drain. This barell should not be stored where it is, at the bare
minimum the city should require the barell be moved under the awning and be stored in either a permanent or·portable secondary
containment device. If the city does not want to. make the restaurant build a containment dike the next option would be to have the
restaurant purchase a sec.ondary containment device for the barell. All these points should be spelled out and addressed on the
Scope of Work submitted on the plans. Plans should be 24X36 standard size by a licensed CA engineer. This is also important
from a legal standpoint should a problem occur in the future. The city can always maintain that the plans approved met basic
standards an<:;I it was the restaurant that did not meet. the. permit requirements. Let me know if you would like me to take a look at
the plans when they come in-b!Jilding can inform ~pplicant to send-me a copy and i can plan check them for you-when they are
approved i will submit them back to building and the applicant can pick them up there, we will just treat it as though they were
submitting ·plans for a Grease Control Device installation.
