Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation,
9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver•
all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad
Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be
reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil
Corporation is complete.
Note on sheet A-3 that the entrance door No 1 must comply with UBC Section
404.4.8 for sliding doors as part of the required exit.
2. Glazing in the following locations should be of safety glazing material in
accordance with Section 2406.4. This applies to store front glazing as shown in
detail 2/A-8.
Reference the ceiling and wall construction details shown on sheet A-i 1 to the
floor plan on sheet A-3 and the reflected ceiling plan on sheet A-4.
Specify in details 3 & 4/A-8 the size and spacing of the store front framing
members and specify how the framing members are anchored to the structural
framing supporting the new store front.
Specify on sheet A-8 the thickness of the full height store front glazing. Detail the
method of supporting the glazing at the top and bottom.
Specify on the plans the size of the header above the new store front doors and
show how the header is supported.
Show on the plans that suspended ceilings shall comply with UBC Tables 25-A,
16-0 and 16-B. These code sections required lateral bracing for the
suspended ceiling in seismic zones 3 & 4 as follows: A. Provide lateral
bracing with 4-12GA wires splayed 450 to the horiz. and 900 to each other
every 12 ft or 144 sq ft. B. provide vertical compression strut extending
from the suspended grid to the structural framing above at 12' OC.

from two sources per UBC 1003.2.8.5.
MECHANICAL
Provide smoke detection in the supply air duct of RTU-3 "air-moving system" for
required shut-off of equipment for smoke control. UMC Section 609.2.
An "air-moving system" is a system designed to provide heating, cooling, or
ventilation in which one or more air-handling units are used to supply air to a
common space or to draw air from a common plenum or space. UMC Section
203.0. RTU-1 is included in the common space with RTU-1 & RTU-2.
PLUMBING
12. Provide men's and women's rest room per UBC 2902.3 and UPC 413.3, item #3.
