Footing excavations should be cleaned of loose debris and thoroughly moistened just prior to placing
concrete.
Based on expansion potential of underlying soils, presoaking of soil below slabs may be recommended.
Consult, the geoteàhnical report for presoaking recommendations. We note that clayey soils may take an
extended of of time and the contractor should schedule accordingly.
In the eventof a site change subsequent to our-footing observation and prior to concrete placement (i.e.,
heavy rain, etc.)4 we should be contacted to perform additional site observations.

Summary of Operations:
4725-13- SLR on site early PM as scheduled by Paul/John C. The building area for the planned house on lot 11 has been
designated by field staking. The grader has excavated the north half of the area 18, processed and compacted the
removal bottom 6u_104, and then placed and compacted moisture conditioned native material in lifts up to near finish
grades. The excavation done with the small dozer, compaction being done with the dozer and by wheel rolling with the
loader. Water added with the fire hose during the excavation, processing, and compaction operations. The plan is to
grade and compact the building area +5' outside to the recommended presoak moisture content of optimum moisture x
1.2. Observation, probing, and testing of the rough graded and compacted north half of the building area indicated that
adequate moisture and density levels-were being obtained as work continued. The grader observed this PM removing the
south half of the building area down 18, the material being stockpiled on the north half. Water being added with the fire
hose during this operation. The removal to extend into the first removal area and the bottom processed/compacted prior
to fill placement. Tech to return mid AM tomorrow to observe continued grading.
4-26-13- SLR on site mid AM through early/mid PM. The grader has excavated the south half of the building area 18D,
processed and compacted the removal bottom W-1 On. Note that the building area limits per the designated field staking.
This AM the author observed the grader place and compacted moisture conditioned native material in lifts up to near
finish grades. The excavation was done with the small dozer, compaction being done with the dozer and by wheel rolling
with the loader. Water added with the fire hose during the excavation, processing, and compaction operations. The dozer
and skip loader trimmed the final finish pad grades, excess material spread on the rear yard section of the lot.
Observation, probing, and testing of the fill placement and then finish grades of the building pad area indicated that
adequate moisture and density levels were obtained. The pad grades and subsequent foOting excavations should be kept
in a moist condition until time of concrete placement.
