Michael Baker International has performed a field survey on June 2, 2017 to field check the building
footing forms for Lots 167-168 & 191-192 on Wellspring Street. The results of the field survey
reveal the footing forms to be within substantial conformance, both horizontally (0.1 O':t) and
vertically (0.05':t) with the City of Carlsbad approved precise grade plans DWG 480-3C, dated
February 9, 2016.

A representative of LGC Valley, Inc. observed the on~site soil conditions. The soil conditions at
the site are substantially in conformance with those assumed in the geotechnical report.
A representative of LGC Valley, Inc. observed the footing excavation{s). The footing
excavation(s) extend into the proper bearing strata and are in general conformance with the
recommendations of the geotechnical report.
A representative ·of LGC Valley, Inc. measured the footing setback from the slope face. The
setback was in general accordance with the, recommendations of the geotechnical report.

1. Footing excavations should be cleaned of loose debris and thoroughly moistened just prior to placing the concrete.
2. Based on the expansion potential of the underlying soils, presoak:ing of soil below slabs may be recommended. Consult the
geotechnical report for the presoaking recommendations. We note that clayey soils may take an extendeq period of time and the
contractor should schedule accordingly,
3. In the event of a site change sub~uent to our footing observation and prior to concrete placement (i.e. heavy rain, a
. construction/placement de!ay, etc.}, we should be contacted to perfonn additional site observations, as necessary.
4. Line and grade of the footing excavation(s) are not part of the purview of LGC Valley, Inc.
5. Soil comp~tion test results, including depth of fill, relative compaction, l)earing yalues, and soil expansion index test results are
contained in the As·Graded Geotechnical Report provided at the completion of grading.
