OSBURN -DIRECTOR OF BUILDING AND HOUSING HOUSE MOVE REQUEST -FROM 2475 JEFFERSON TO 2575 HIGHLAND. The Building Department has inspected the above structure to be moved from 2475 Jefferson Street, to 2575 Highland Avenue, and finds that there are no major deficiencies in the structure at this time. All structures that are being moved are subject to further inspection as to dry rot, termites, etc. If any of these conditions are found after the structure is raised from the foundation, they must be corrected as required by code. This is a very large structure and quite a nice home having over 2700 square feet in the building which appears in good condition. It was constructed at the Jefferson Street address in 1951-52. In the opinion of this department, this structure is more than compatable wi.th the surrounding area. The other building in question as shown in the photographs, was approved for a move from 2469 Jefferson Street to 3070 Madison Street, at the February 22nd meeting of the Planning Commission. All structures approved to be moved are required to have adequate insurance;to post a performance or completion bond. This is to avoid having a structure approved and moved but not completed. Upon the issuance of an occupancy certificate this department releases the bond posted by the owner or contractor. If you have any questions, I will be more than pleased to answer them. The approximate area of filled ground and the loca- tions of the in-place field density tests to which this report pertains are shown on the attached Figure No. 1, entitled "Site Plan and Loca- tion of Compacted Filled Ground." The grading plan used for the placement of filled ground was prepared by E. Brian Smith Engineers. The maximum dry density and optimum moisture content of the soil used as fill material were determined in accordance with A.S.T.M. Designa- tion Dl557-70. A summary of these tests is presented in Table I. Table II presents a summary of the in-place field density tests per- formed.
