I have reviewed the building plans for the above referenced project. The project
is exempt from the redevelopment permit process because the proposed work
qualifies as an interior and exterior improvements to an existing structure, which
does not result in the intensification of the existing use. Therefore, no land use
permit is required. I do not have any objections to the issuance of the building
permit for this project. This information has been entered into Permits Plus. If

Re: Interior Renovations at East Fegan Hall
Dear General Bliss:
Thank you for your letter dated February 17, 2006 specifying the intent of the use of
the dormitory rooms after the proposed interior renovations. Based upon the
information you have provided, staff can support the interior renovations and
conversion of 5 dormitory rooms into 2 larger rooms. Since the future occupants of
the rooms are intended to be persons who do not drive and do not own automobiles,
the proposed improvements will not trigger any need for additional parking.
Therefore the proposed interior renovations are exempt from any type of
redevelopment permit and the operations as specified within your letter dated
February 17, 2006 are permitted.
Please be aware that a building permit will be required for the proposed renovations,
which can be obtained at the Building Department located at 1635 Faraday Avenue.
