The application must be signed by the 011ner (or his. authorized representative) of
the ;:,roperty to be served. The total charges must be paid to the r,istrict at the
time the application is submitted.
If a service lattral is required, it will be installed hy the Leucadia County Water
District. The servicr: lateral is that part of the sewe•· system that extends from
the main collection l,ne in the street (or easement) to the ooint in the street (at
or near the applicant's property 1 ineJ where the servic£ lateral is connected to
the applicant's building sewer. The applicant is respom.ible for the construction,
at the applicant's eJpense, of the sewer pipeline (building :;ewer) from the appli-
cant's plumbing to tf,e point in the street (or easement) 1~he•·e a connection is made
to the service later;,1.
The connection of tt,e applicant's building sewer to the s1,rvice lateral shall be
made by the applicar1t at his expense. The connection must be made in conformity
with the District's specifications, rules and regulations; and IT MUST BE INSPECTED
AND APPROVED BY THE DISTRICT BEFORE THE SEWER SYSTEM MAY Bl USED BY THE APPLICANT.
THE Ai'PLiCANT, OR H:s AUTHORIZED P.EPRESENTAT!IJE, MUST NOTHY THE DISTRICT AT THE
TIME INSPECTION IS JESIRED. ANY CONNECTION MADE TO THE ·SE!1/ICE LATERAL OR COLLEC-
TION LINE WITHOUT PUOR APPROVAL AND INSPECTION BY THE DISr:UCT WILL BE CONSIDERED
INVALID AND WILL NClf BE ACKNOWLEDGED.
The prorated sewer service fee is based upon the date the D·:;trict estimat:is that
service wil 1 begin and covers the balance of the fiscal year There wi 11 i>e no
additional ,fee or ,·efund if service actually conmences on a ,afferent date. For
succeeding fiscal years, the sewer service fee will be colh\'ted on the tax roll
in the same manner as property taxes.
