Please make all corrections, as requested in the correction list. Submit FOUR new
complete sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (THREE sets of plans for
residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be submitted in one
of two ways:
1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760) 602-
2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil and the Carlsbad Planning, Engineering and
Fire Departments.
2. Bring TWO corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil, 9320 Chesapeake
Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver all remaining sets of
plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department for
routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil only will not be reviewed by the City
Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil is complete.
• PLANS
1. Provide the following details for the dressing room:
a) A circular or t-shaped turning space complying with Section 11 B-304 shall
be provided within the room. 11 B-803.2.
b) Doors shall not swing into the dressing/fitting room unless a turning space
complying with Section 11 B-304.3 is provided beyond the arc of the door
swing. 11 B-803.3
c) A bench complying with the provisions of section 11 B-903 shall be
provided within the dressing/fitting room. 11 B-803.4
d) The bench shall be 48" long and 20" minimum to 24" maximum deep.
e) The bench shall be 17" minimum to 19" maximum above the finish floor.
f) The bench shall be affixed to the wall or floor and shall withstand a
vertical or horizontal force of 250 pounds.
g) A clear floor or ground space in compliance with 11 B-305 shall be
provided at the end of the bench parallel to the short axis of the bench.
h) Coat hooks provided within the room shall be located within one of the
reach
ranges specified in Section 11 B-308. Shelves shall be 40 inches (1016
mm) minimum and 48 inches (1219 mm) maximum above the finish floor
or ground. Coat hooks shall not be located above the bench or other
seating in the room. 11 B-803.5

i) Mirrors shall be installed with the bottom edge of the reflecting surface 20
inches (508 mm) maximum above the finish floor or ground. Mirrors shall
be full length with a reflective surface 18 inches (457 mm) wide minimum
by 54 inches (1372 mm) high minimum and shall be mounted in a position
affording a view to a person on the bench as well as to a person in a
standing position. 11 B-803.6
2. Show that the combination dispenser proposed within the restroom will comply
with 11 B-604. 7 and NOT encroach into the 1 ½" space required for the sidewall
grab bar.
3. Show directional signs at the following locations when the means of egress are not
accessible. 1009.10
a. At exits serving accessible spaces but not providing an accessible means of
egress at the putting green exit.
• FRAMING
4. Please provide complete details showing all fasteners proposed at all new
connections for details on sheet A8.3.
5. Please provide manufacturer documentation for the installation of the cloud
feature. Coordinate manufacturer requirements onto the plans.
6. Please add the existing egress doors onto the door schedule showing complaint
hardware.
• MECHANICAL/ ELECTRICAL/ PLUMBING
7. Describe the method of compliance for temperature limitations for the following
fixture types: private lavatories (120 degrees), public use lavatories and bidets,
(limited to 110 degrees) and (bathtubs and showers (120 degrees)). Note: The
water heater thermostat may not be used for compliance with this Code section.
CPC 407.3, 409.4, 410.3, 421.2, and Energy Standards 11 0(C)3.
8. Provide a detail for the condensate drain showing adequate fall, sized per CMC
Table 310.3, trap, vent, cleanout, and draining into an indirect waste receptor or
lavatory tail piece within the same space being conditioned. CMC 310.
9. Show GFCI protected receptacles within 6' of sinks. NEC 210.8.
10. Show the location of the transformer disconnect. If remote, please show that the
transformer disconnect will be lockable and the location of the disconnect will be
labeled at the transformer. NEC 450.14.
11. Show that the transformer will have a 12" separation from combustible
construction in compliance with NEC 450.21.
